  • EXTRA THICK AND SUPER DURABLE. The key to an effective above-ground pool winterizing kit is the material quality. This winter pool cover boasts a 14 14 scrim count (the industrys top standard) and the density of 185 gsm. Also important in pool covers for above-ground pools are the seams: poorly done, they will let dirt through. Our pool covers patent-pending sealing technology prevents it and keeps the water inside uncontaminated until spring.
  • PROTECTION FROM SUNLIGHT AND OVERGROWING. When choosing a pool closing kit for above-ground pools, remember that winter sun is deceiving. UV radiation from it doesnt drop during colder months as much as temperature does, so any materials left outside are at risk of damage. Thats why the cover in our pool closing kit has LDPE coating on it thats been tested to withstand solar UV radiation. Also, the BLACK UNDERSIDE of the round pool cover wont let the water overgrow.
  • HIGHLY RESISTANT TO COLD. If you live in a place where winters are bitter, your above-ground pool protection needs to be able to survive low temperatures on top of keeping precipitation and debris out of the pool. Unlike a simpler pool tarp, this swimming pool cover will cope with the cold as bad as 10 F (25 C). On the other end of its temperature resistance range, the pool wrap shows impressive stats, too: it can handle the heat of up to 180 F (80 C).
  • STRONG FASTENINGS FOR A STURDIER GRIP. To make sure that your pool winter cover wont collapse, you need to fix it firmly in the first place. Swimming pool covers for above-ground pools that are tied up with a rope are often not up to the challenge. Instead, our pool cover kit has steel-core cable in it, and the cable goes into reinforced metal grommets, so you can consider your pool blanket neatly tucked. A specially molded winch turns smoothly and makes it easy to really tighten the cable.

I doubted myself when I pressed the order button on this pool cover. It costs a lot more than I usually spend for one. What if it's as thin and as the ones Ive bought every/every other year? Well let me tell you..It is NOT thin, it is THICK and heavy and it seems to almost have a rubber coating on the outside. Where the grommets are is a VERY THICK band of stitching. That is where my old tarps that did not have that band of stitching failed first. My Wife and I put the 24' Yankee Sapphire Series on our above ground pool no problem and it lays well and looks freaking awesome!!! Since the cover is thicker and heavier and lays well, it actually went on the pool easier than my old ones. I will try to remember to update this review for you after several years when I am sure I will still be using it. Don't doubt yourself on this one, it's worth the extra bucks. This pool cover is made of sturdy material. I was worried because of its reasonable price. I ordered a cover for a 21’ pool, which is what I have and it fits well. All parts were included and worked as expected. I’m satisfied with the quality for now. We’ll see how it holds up to a Chicago winter.

    • Cover failed in the first season of use

Cover is thick and appears to be of good quality but failed in the first season of use. Purchased the pool coverin September 2022 and after only one winter if use, the cover has a great number of pin holes some quite big mainly on the creases where the cover was folded when packaged. I've emailed DSW Products a number of times and yet to hear a response. I've purchased a number of pool covers over the years and even the cheapest cover and of what appeared to be of inferior quality compared to this one, lasted multiple years of use before it stated to break down. NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER at this point in time and CANNOT recommend unless this is resolved!!!!! UPDATE 7/25/23 After registering pool cover warranty online, I contacted Yankee Pool Coves again and soon after I heard back from customer Support Team where they quickly apologized for my experience and sent out a new cover. Very impressed with how quickly they responded soon after I registered the initial purchase and sent another pool cover with no hesitation.. Hoping this cover performes better.     • Metal tightener came broken
This was the second time purchasing this pool cover. The first time all was good. This time the metal tightener came broken so we had to figure out a way to secure the cover. Don't understand why everything is starting to be made so cheap.

Awesome cover! We were shocked when we opened it up today (see photo) to realize all we need to do is add new chlorine and top up the water. No algae! No chemistry blend to clear winter gunky water! The tarp itself is extra reinforced, but the winch was key. It kept it on tight as a drum. That tarp wasn’t going anywhere. We don’t get snow or ice here, but we got torrential downpours all winter and a lot of strong winds. This pool cover kept our water nearly perfect through a longer than normal winter! We don’t really need it, not having snow or ice, but we also added the floating pillow. We found it was easier to get bulk surface water off the top of the tarp throughout the winter with the pillow lifting it up in the middle. Both pieces are worth every penny.
