I was looking for something to help keep the rain and the Sun off of the part of my deck that was not covered by a roof. I don't know why I never considered an awning but this was an excellent idea. While it did come in many parts, the instructions were fairly easy to follow it is important to follow them in order and follow them precisely for a secure insulation. This thing is heavy duty sturdy and I would rate it almost commercial in quality. My husband was afraid to have it extended during rainstorms but I told him this is why I bought it let's at least see what it does... Amazingly it held up through several rainstorms though we did bring it in when the wind got bad. It looks amazing and does the job well. This is one of my best decisions of the summer so far!!

This product is exactly what I wanted for my back deck. Assembly does take two people. Direction book was a 8 out of 10. I recommend you follow the directions exactly as printed; makes for easier assembly and adjustment to as needed. We installed on a double wide home with siding. Placing bits for brackets in studs. Measurements were perfect. Highly recommend.

I love this awning! I've seen some reviews complain about the instructions, but I thought they were pretty good. It's not very easy to assemble because it's so big, but it's worth it. We even told some friends about it and they bought the same exact one for their house. The bolts that were included are just for concrete, but my house is wooden, so I had to buy a few lagbolts to secure it. It works really well and looks really good and of high quality. I'd definitely buy it again!

First, let me say, this is a high quality well made product. Definitely worth the money. But the instructions could be WAY better. If you are not mechanically inclined and good at figuring out things, find someone who is to help you. Make sure you measure and mark the EXACT distance between the two mounting brackets per the instructions. There is no room for error. Also, if you are mounting this under an eave or soffit (as we did) make sure you measure the height of the rolled canvas and add that to the length down you need. This is great for shade, but you MUST roll it up if you are expecting a heavy rain. The weight of a heavy rain will make it bend down and possibly break, as we nearly had that happen. Otherwise, for the money spent, we are pleased.

This review is for the 12'x10' awning. Overall, the awning is serviceable, but I wouldn't expect it to last more than a few years (3 or 4?). First, the packaging was horrible. There was no padding, so the surface of the frame materials were scratched up upon opening. The box itself was falling apart upon arrival. Next, the expanding arms are made of thin aluminum and easily dent. The awning material itself is waterproof, but rather flimsy. The instructions are absolutely horrible. They were obviously created within another country. I had to take the frame apart and re-assemble three times before I got it right. H9int: just make the frame look exactly like the first full picture of the assembled product in the instructions, and it'll go much easier for you. Also, the included expansion screws are almost worthless in anchoring in the assembled awning (which weighs about 80 lbs). I would suggest not using them at all and buying six 5' long 1/2' thick screws. Also, make sure you are anchoring into a wood stud. The instructions do not mention that at all. Seems obvious, but some things people just won't know until they are first told. Also, if you find that the awning is rolled upside down (with the roller on top), just keep cranking in the direction to unroll it. It will eventually roll up to the other side (easy correction). In all, it works for me since it's just a temporary fix until I build my pergola next year. I wouldn't buy this for the long term, however. Expansion screws

Just installed, so, so far, so good. The quality of the parts Jim's good. Nothing was misaligned, cross-threaded, or flimsy/ cheap feeling. I don't know about longevity yet, but it went together pretty well. The instructions are not abundantly clear in some places, so threading the fabric into the metal parts had to be redone. Not a big deal, just takes some extra time to fix. You should note, there are no measurement instructions for placing the brackets on the wall, so measure carefully! Let's just say, have some bolts ready to go for an accessory just to the side of the awning, lol! This install will go best if you have do-it-yourself experience, as we are talking about hammer drills and expansion bolts for concrete mounting. If you're not sure what those things are, get help with this project. Also, lifting the thing into place can be a challenge, so two people are much better. I did do it myself, but it was tough.

Assembly and installation are a little tedious but worth the effort! You need 2 fairly strong people to climb 2 ladders and hang them on the brackets. We attached the brackets on a 2” x 6” x 10ft board (painted to match our siding) while they were at a reasonable height. ⚠️Be sure to place the awning in the bracket before you attach it to the house. Then attached the boards to our siding then hang the awnings. We got 2. They create so much more shade for our south facing backyard. Easy to open and close and very sturdy, even in a little breeze. Great bang for your buck!! Would definitely recommend! They are only halfway open in my photos.
