This patio umbrella from Patio Kingdom looks great, and is large enough to give me the coverage I needed, providing shade and privacy over my back patio that my neighbor's balcony overlooks. I have the 9FT LED version as well, and while it has a similar canopy thickness, the spokes are a little less robust, I'm assuming in order to cut down on the weight. The canopy feels a little thicker than what you'd find on a standard handheld umbrella. It's not super heavy-duty, but realistically, I think the compromise to reduce the weight is fine. It works perfectly well, and I prefer the lighter weight to something like those old fashioned canvas umbrellas, especially for home use. It also tends to repel water better, and gets less dirty and dingy over time. It was mostly ready to go out of the box, aside form needing to have the spokes inserted into each little pocket of the canopy, which didn't take more than a minute. The pole fit my base well, and it feels sturdy, and doesn't get picked up by the wind, I believe thanks in part to the ventilated top. The tilt mechanism works well, and the crank to open and close it turns effortlessly. I ordered the lake blue color, and on the product page it showed a slightly greenish tint that isn't really present in person. The actual shade is nice though, and vibrant. It's just slightly cooler in tone than expected, but I'm happy with how it looks. It pops. It's sunny year round where I live, and the large area coverage and shade it provides definitely gives us a bit of relief from the baking sun during these warmer months. It's overall a stylish umbrella that fits my patio space well, and is a solid value as well. ... show more

We have a picnic table on our dock, and after a few years of abuse around the saltwater, the umbrella we had rusted out. When I saw that this umbrella had fiberglass components, I thought it might hold up a little better in my environment. Within minutes of unboxing, I had it giving shade to my picnic table. Installing the cover on the umbrella was a little more difficult, as you had to insert the fiberglass tips into the outer pockets of the umbrella. The canopy is opaque enough that I doubt you get any UV rays underneath it (believe it or not I have been sunburned underneath an umbrella before). When I inserted the umbrella in my picnic table, I did discover that this umbrella is a little bit shorter than some others we've used in the past, but the canopy is 1ft larger in diameter (10ft instead of 9ft). Now, when I go to collapse the umbrella, my picnic table interferes with it collapsing completely (something other umbrellas didn't do). This mismatch isn't the fault of the manufacturer, but rather my own, so this is just something for potential buyers to be aware of. Once I set it up, I took a few pictures in various positions. The adjustment hinge seems to work well. Rather than providing an umbrella cover, they include a velcro strap that can be used to hold the umbrella in the collapsed position. So, in summary, this umbrella provides great shade, and seems to be durable, but be cautious about whether the longer rods make it more difficult to collapse. ... show more

For a patio umbrella under $70, I was not expecting much. I figured it would barely survive assembly. But this was above those expectations. There is a lot of plastic but it is thought out. The hinge and pole is metal. Most of the rest is sturdy plastic. The cloth is not heavy duty but it is thick enough to do what is needed. It provides fantastic shade the the color is just so cheerful. It was very easy to assemble. It just took minutes. The pole comes in two parts so you can set the bottom pole and then place the umbrella portion, rather than try to get the entire thing in one go. This also allows for taking the top half down rapidly if needed. It is just a push of a button. The tilt portion is also a button but it is limited to how far it tips. It will catch itself rather than you needing to hold it in desperation. The tilt is a good angle. It can tilt in two directions. So much coverage. The vents at the top help it to not get picked up on a windy day and take you to OZ. It has Velcro straps to hold it together when you have it down. If it does not hold up reasonably, I will return. But so far, for the price it is worth it. It beats dropping a few hundred in one go. ... show more
