This water boiler has a micro computerized temperature control system with 4 keep warm temeprature settings (160°F, 175°F, 195°F and 208°F), that can be used to make a variety of teas, coffee, instant food and more. There is also an optional Quick Temp Mode that reaaches selected keep warm temperatures directly without reaching a boil (160°F, 175°F, and 195°F keep warm). It is convenient and easy to use with the electric dispensing system, easy-to-clean nonstick interior, and an easy-to-read wide window water level gauge. Base swivels for serving convenience. Audible alert sound lets you know when boiling is complete. All surfaces that come into contact with food or beverage are BPA free.

I could not rate the energy efficiency nor the timer functions, as I have not tried those. I can say it delivers hot water every time I push the dispense button, so it does what it says it does. My last zojirushi hot water pot lasted over 10 years, I decided to replace it with this one. Works perfect as expected. It is not meant to be turned off and on. The point of these is water is always hot and ready to use for tea, coffee or whatever you need such as instant ramen.

I was at first worried about all the instructions but it was easy to program in a matter of a minute. You have to set the temp you want daily as it reverts to Green Tea temp with each plug-in. I am a big fan of hello kitty, therefore i purchased this Zojirushi Hello Kitty water boiler as i also know Zojirushi is a very reliable brand which i have used before. Positive: The outside looks super cute just like the picture. It has all the same functionality as the Zojirushi water boiler i had before. So that is a plus; It also maintain the water temperature really well the whole time Less Positive: Only thing i notice that is slightly different is.. the water boil slightly slower than the one i had before.. not sure if there is a particular reason..but still fast enough; it is a smaller size than typical Zojirushi water heater.. but you might need to refill it more time if you have a big family.. Overall, i would recommend this if you are a fan of hello kitty ... show more

My fault for not measuring how much counter space this would occupy. It is cute, but would be more so if it featured the Hello Kitty character on the wide front panel (which it does not.) The shortcomings were really in me for having not compared the measurements with my counter before purchase, as I'd assumed it would have been about the same size as my OLD Panasonic that held the identical amount of water but was taller with a smaller footprint. ... show more
