Overall I'm extremely pleased with this product...i didn't notice before purchasing but the base does need to be anchored down or it will tip over. We do not have a deck so we mounted ours to a heavy duty pallet and it works wonderfully. I am absolutely thrilled with what i got for the price...i will likely be buying at least one more! I bought this umbrella prior to a garden reception to use while hosting our son’s wedding reception. What a beautiful product. When gusts of wind came, the umbrella held fast but rocked slightly from the ball joint. Many guests asked where I got the beautiful large umbrella. This umbrella is as it is described. The material is good and is very easy to set up. There is an issue with the stopped to hold the umbrella up. It stopped working and the umbrella would start going down. We asked for an exchange which came 5 days later and has worked as it should. If we have the same issue with it being a nicely priced umbrella, we will drill a hole and add a coder pin. ... show more

Even with two weights on it, it has tipped over and is not sturdy at all. If there is absolutely no wind it’s great and works awesome. The lights are great but it is not sturdy and quite frankly terrifying.

    • Good umbrella, bad lights
As a shade umbrella, it's good enough, but I made my decision to buy it based on the built in solar lighting, and it's pretty near useless. I was pleased at the amount of light it provided on the first night, when I plugged the unit in when it began getting dark, but there's no way to control the lights. As soon as it's out of direct sunlight, the lights turn on, and the capacity of the battery is low enough that by the time it's full dark, and you'd be able to enjoy the warm glow the lights provide, they're too dim to be anything besides decoration. Some kind of switch under the canopy would make it great, but as it is, in order to use it, you'd have to take off and disconnect the power unit to charge it, then put it back on at late dusk, and although it's not astoundingly difficult, it doesn't really strike me as being designed to do that, especially when you'd have to drop the umbrella to the ground to remove/install it ... show more

This item was quick and easy to setup in 5 or so minutes. The stitching did not appear to be top tier and some of the pieces appeared to be less desirable and cheap. But for the price, if it lasts 2 seasons, I'll be happy. It certainly covers the space and area that I needed.
