I just installed the charger today and promptly disabled the RFID card by pushing the left button for 10 sec. and flashing the card when prompted. It looks like it is charging. I wonder about other features that are not mentioned in the Station Manual. What are the other buttons for on the front of the unit?? A D T ? Is there a way to change the temperature from celsius to fahrenheit? ... show more

I have a triplex with it's own little parking lot. There's no garage, so any EV charger was going to have to go outside. That presents a problem. Anyone could just come up and use it. Well, the RFID cards present the solution. The listing barely mentions it, but this comes with three of those RFID cards. Installation wasn't all that difficult. Granted, I didn't do it. I handed the box to my electrician and pointed at the wall. That was my contribution to the installation. The non-electrical aspects of installation are shown in the listing and not very complicated. If you can use a drill and a level, you'll be fine. The cable is long enough, barely, for my RAV4 Prime. The RAV4 Prime has a charging port above the rear fender. The cars it usually charge have charging ports closer to (or directly on) the front of the car, so it's much easier. That makes sense, because I can also charge my car by putting dinosaur juice in it while the other two are pure EVs. The cars that this charges are a Chevrolet Bolt and a Hyundai Kona EV. The third tenant drives an old pickup truck that needs plugged into a gas station, not this thing. This maxes out both of those cars easily. I also charged my RAV4 Prime with it for a bit to test it out. It worked fine with that too. The RAV4 can only handle 32a, so it maxed that out as well. The only weird thing about this is that it gave me an error message the second I took it out of the box. It wasn't that big of a deal, and judging by some other reviews, it's normal for this. There's a big, red button on the side that says reset. Twist it (don't bop it or pull it) like the arrows indicate and it will reset. The manual didn't mention anything about this, but it wasn't very difficult to figure out. Speaking of the manual, don't lose it. Wonvon doesn't seem to have much any internet presence, and I can't find a pdf of that manual anywhere. Then again, the manual is pretty terrible, so I guess it's not a huge loss. This is not difficult to use, at all. The big A adjusts the amperage. The D is a delay. The T is time, just in case you only want to charge for an hour or something. If you want to turn off the RFID function, hold the other button down for 10 seconds while the charger isn't plugged into a car, then swipe the RFID card when it tells you. Do that quickly, you only get about 2 seconds. Thus far, the only complaints I have received about this have nothing to do with the charger itself. In other words, one tenant hogging the charger or whatever. It has been working great. It is under an awning, but it still has gotten wet thanks to some blowing rain. It didn't seem to mind. The plug has definitely sat out in the rain, plugged into a car, several times. Everything is working just fine. So, if my tenants haven't broken it, you shouldn't either. ... show more

Got this to charge my '23 Bolt EUV, since the included charger only goes up to 24 amps. As advertised it is super simple to plug-and-play. The cable to the charging head is very thick and heavy-duty, and plugged into my car's port effortlessly. Readout told me it was drawing 40.2 amps and my car's rate of charging matched what the charger readout indicated. The directions aren't great, but the reviews/ videos posted by other folks who have purchased this item made it super simple for me to get going. -Upon first use, I had to TWIST THE RED RESET BUTTON for 10 seconds, then it was happy. -If you want to make it plug-and-play instead of having to scan one of the included RFID tags every time, press the far-left button under the screen for 10 seconds and then, as soon as you're prompted, scan one of the RFID tags. (It's got a pretty short window of time to scan... I had to do it a 2nd time to be fast enough). But then all you have to do is plug in the charger and... you're charging! And then I was up and running! Charged my car at probably twice the miles-of-range-per-hour-charging rate as the smaller L2 charger that was included with my car. I love how simple this was to set up - no hard-wiring required, it just needs the right socket to plug into. It's amazing what you can do with that many amps. Didn't overheat at all, none of the copper wiring feeding the unit nor the cable to the car got more than very mildly warm to the touch at any point. Includes a single-screw hanging mount for the easiest possible wall mount attachment, and the unit is light enough that there's no worries about wanting more support than that one screw. (That being said, a number of screws and anchors are included to make it easy to put the charger on wood or on drywall). Included three RID tags as well, in case you want to allow only a few folks to access this. I'm the only user, which is why I decided to make life easy for myself and put the charger in the 'unlocked' state. EASY, fast, highly functional, totally worthwhile! This charger gets top marks. I know there are additional capabilities available if I were to connect it to the wifi or download the app, but I haven't done either and I don't think I plan to. It's a charger... I plug-in and charge. That's really all I need. ... show more
