Bought the 40% for extra durability and so far the plants are ok with the extra shade. Quite cooler than out in the afternoon sun and helping reduce watering. Here in East Tennessee it has been hot and dry. I am not used to this weather. Last year was a disaster for my tomatoes and peppers due to the heat. This year I finally broke down and bought the shade cloth. My tomatoes are looking terrific. I still don't know what is wrong with the peppers but I have been slightly better. Now the soil in my raised beds stays moist longer. The tomato plants don't wilt and shrivel up. The shade cloth is strong. I like the grommets. They seem well attached to the cloth. I am confident the cloth will last me at least one more season and maybe several more after that.

We bought this to shade the back patio from the afternoon sun for the dogs. It provides some relief but the mesh holes are so large that a lot of sun & heat still comes through - not much improvement. Also, it is flimsy, reminds us of recycled plastic bottles - looks pretty hokey used as a shade for a patio. Not the quality we had hoped for. Its just ok. The best part of the entire product is the reinforced corners. We will have to buy something else, this is too cheap and lets in way too much sunlight/heat.

I ordered this shade cloth to help shade my young plant starts from several days of high temperatures. So far they are doing quite well. This shade cloth has a reinforced edge and grommets, making it easy to attach to the poles I used to hold it up. It seems quite sturdy for what it is. I would buy this again.

I got this to help with my RV heating up. I live in a 5th wheel year-round and during the heat, it heats up really badly to the point my AC is working pretty hard. I saw in an RV group that people use these shade cloths to provide some extra UV protection, so I got a 20x40 and set it up to fully shade the top areas and a little coverage around the slides. I have noticed it stays close to 10 degrees cooler inside, just from the cloth. Very significant and I have ordered even more to cover a few other areas and help with some UV protection for my dogs, shed, and an extra for camping!
