🚀 Abunda's Overview

This is our summary and key points to consider based on customer reviews.

The harddrive is generally successful at providing additional storage for various applications and uses. Some users found it a bit clunky, but the majority had no problems with it operating well. The fact that the 4TB drive actually formats to 3.7TB was a point of criticism for some, but this is a common occurence with harddrives and not exclusive to this product. A few isolated cases of malfunction were reported, but generally the product performs reliabily.

Pros

  • 🔵 Provides ample additional storage
  • 🔵 Reliable for the majority of users
  • 🔵 Good value for money

Cons

  • 🔴 Some find the operation sound clunky
  • 🔴 4TB drive actually formats to 3.7TB
  • 🔴 Some instances of malfunction reported

Should I Buy It?

Yes, if you're in need of additional storage at a good price, this harddrive has proven to be a generally reliable option. Keep in mind that the disk may not be compatible with all systems and formats to 3.7TB rather than the full 4TB.

  • Works
A little clunky sounding. Sinology ds920+ complains that the disk is not on their compatibility list.

  • It works fine.
It's a 50 dollar used harddrive. Bought it as secondary storage for my gaming rig and it hasn't thrown a platter through the case yet, so bravo.

  • 3.7TB... not 4TB
The drives are listed at 4TB.... the ones I received are 3.7TB... that is a huge rounding up.

  • Does the job!
4tb for cheap. I use these in a backup drive rotation so the refurb nature doesn’t bother me. Does the job!

  • Recertified... to crucify your data!
Purchased February 17, 2021 DEAD by October 18, 2022. Complete loss of all data and drive was used as a backup drive. Drive was working fine for a moment, filled 75% with important data. Powered off drive to move to another machine, connected... now dead. Tried in several machines with different docks, connected internally, with USB... nothing worked. Drive is not even seen by OS or BIOS. Literally bricked and all my data along with it. Sold (at the time) by: goHardDrive. Perhaps these 'companies' just change their name when enough go bad. • Good drives, ignore the review complaining about 3.7Tb's
Anytime you have hard drive reviews you have a few people who know nothing about computers and hard drives. All hard drives since they were invented lose some storage to formatting and partition usage. Also if you do the math on bits to bytes conversion this is how it works out. So yes a 4Tb drive formats to 3.7Tb's but hard drives have always been that way. If you leave a review complaining about this then you do not have enough knowledge to leave reviews on hard drives. As for the hard drive I have used Western Digital most of my life and they have a very good track record. ... show more
