We bought this fence a few months back but didn't install it until recently. Some of the installation videos we watched on youtube suggested we might want a core drill instead of an ordinary one, and we couldn't figure out whether to buy or rent that or whether buy or rent an ordinary rotary hammer drill, and how to drill straight holes. The plastic sleeves that hold the fence were easy to insert into the holes with a mallet. The fence itself is not as easy to put up and take down as their video makes you believe. Once the sleeves are in the concrete, the fence no longer slides in easily, and even less so when there's tension on it. I had to use a mallet on most of the fence posts to get them all the way in, and taking them out also requires some force. Not impossible, but not something you'd want to do every weekend or whenever you want to increase your porch space. To save money, we bought the drill guide and the fence itself used, and the rotary hammer is also factory reconditioned. For the most part, we're happy with that decision. Amazon's description said the product would be complete, but about half of the fence boxes were missing hardware: The plastic sleeves themselves that you put in the concrete were there but the little plastic caps you're supposed to put on them if/when you remove the fence were missing. Also, one of the fence pieces had both outer fence posts broken, but we were able to use that piece anyway since we needed a shorter fence piece by the gate. Considering the steep discount for the used fence pieces, I think this was a worthwhile purchase. At the full price, I can't give more then 3 stars for "value-for-the-money" though. ... show more

I should have known not to buy this after the first package never arrived, then the second was tampered with. I had this installed by an ex-pool installer so I know its was installed correctly. Less than 6 months since install and already about half the screws are rusted. Also the screen itself has begun to warp and loosen at the top only (but not the bottom yet). We can't pull the segments tighter because the 'stretch' is only on the top. Must leave as is or cut each segment out a pull which decreases the sturdiness of the fence, which will happen anyway because the screws have started to rot. Less than 6 months but long enough to not be able to return. And as for the stretching at the top, do not think it is from anyone pulling. The fence was put up to stop a 2 and 3 year old that aren't tall enough to pull the top nor have they tried. Will probably have to buy another way to protect them this summer. Not worth the expense or hassle to buy this for one season. ... show more

So I actually use this as a screen for stumpgrinding. These screens are solid and well built but very light. I've used them as a debris screen for 6 months and they haven't torn or shown wear at all. If they can stand up to this kind of use I believe they would hold up pretty well as a pool screen.

We needed a safety fence to protect our 4 kids from the in-ground pool. This was a highly rated(Amazon and other websites) and name brand option that I’m glad we choose. We purchased several 12-ft sections, the self closing gate and the metal drill guide. The quality of materials and ease of installation made this a 1 day install with 1 person. Whatever you do, read the instructions a couple times. There are really important details that you need to know before you start to make holes all over your concrete. The drill bit required was hard to track down in stores, but the recommended size and length is exactly what you need with the drill guide for a perfect hole. This install will definitely require a heavy duty hammer drill with an SDS style drill bit. A small handheld drill with a “hammer” option will not get you anywhere. The box for each section and the gate come with cardboard templates to make it easy to plan your route and mark where to drill Start with the gate first then follow around the pool until you meet back at the gate. The gate does have pre drilled holes everywhere you will need to attach hinges and latches and are all super accurate. Once fully Installed and properly tensioned, I feel like I could football tackle the fence and it would stop me. Several wind storms(40-50mph gusts) came thru shortly after installation and it took it like a champ. ... show more

I'm hoping the manufacturer receives this message...on Feb. 6 I ordered 8 sections of beige fence and a gate. I am just now getting around to completing the installation. 4 sections came with beige concrete sleeves and caps, but the other 4 came with gray. Can I get enough beige sleeves and caps for 4 sections sent to me so that they all match? Other than that, I am pleased with the product. ... show more

    • Sturdier than you'd think!

I LOVE this pool fence! I did have to rent a more powerful drill to get through our concrete faster, but it was a breeze. I took about 3 hours to install 5 packs of the fencing. I struggled a little bit with cutting the last bit to fit, but I think I was just overthinking it. I will probably purchase these again if I need to fence a pool in the future. A note on the sturdiness: I had a 5 and a 7 year old try their best to push a section over so they could get in (this was not encouraged, we stopped them pretty quickly). I was pleasantly surprised with how well the fence withstood their attempt! I would still recommend children are always watched around the pool, but it's given me a nice peace of mind. ... show more
