This is my first automatic litterbox - I personally had to go with an open one because my cat would rather use the floor rather than bearing through a closed space. She got accustomed to it rather quickly. She’s not the best at covering her business with the litter, so after long enough, I needed something to help with the smell. It works well, with some minor inconveniences. The second night I had it out, I woke up to finding the rotating top backwards, meaning she would have no chance of getting in until I unplugged it and plugged it back in. It happened a second time, but I found out right after. Now, just a few days in having it, it delays the waste removal, but only by a minute, which doesn’t bother me. It tilts back to cover her business, returns to the natural position, then goes back again to dump it. My least favorite part would have to be the waste bin. The manual says it tends to last 5-7 days per cat, my cat never likes to have a single drop in her bladder, so she uses it several times a day. I typically empty it every 2-3 days instead to avoid the first mistake I made: emptying when it was full. It gave me a signal it was full as it was at the end of the rotation, so when I took out the bin, the clump waiting to enter it just plopped onto the floor. The waste doesn’t really have a way of shifting to the front of the bin, so I’d recommend giving it a little shake every so often. It is also pretty tall, so I’d recommend buying some kind of steps or a tall litter catcher, since the entrance is about 11 inches from the ground. ... show more
