These were relatively easy to install and they did the trick! We installed 4 of them in under an hour total from unboxing to completion. Quality is good. Only semi-complaint is that you have to be careful how you let them roll back up because they can get creased in the roller.

Installation is very difficult, you have to install it on a wall and there is no base installation option. The spring tension is extremely disproportionate from top to bottom so the top is always loose and flaps like crazy. Also don't bother it you don't have some muscle strength, super tight spring mechanism. The other end where you hook the screen is worse, it's some very flimsy material and to insert and lock is a trick by itself. Don't bother with this, I returned one and the 2nd one will probably end up in garbage and I'll have to get something better. ... show more

Bad all the way around. The hardware didn't fit, so it was difficult to install. The post is plastic. The first gust of wind broke it off at the base. The blind doesn't go back in easily at all. Don't waste your money.

It would've helped to know I needed a bunch of tools I don't have to install this one. I'm not a handyman nor a handywoman, and I don't have anyone to help me install this so I regret buying it. I am going to have to buy an electric hammer, and a Hexagonal spanner, whatever the f..that is. Yikes. Don't buy this if you are not a handyperson stocked up with tools and experience. ... show more

This is a heavy duty screen. Very nicely made. However installation requires either bolting to the ground or a very sturdy deck. We did the house and bolted the lock handle to the deck. You definitely need power tools. It is perfect to stop viewing by neighbor.

The day after we installed it [We actually attached it to the house and zip-tied it to the deck support instead of drilling the concrete] we had sustained 30 mph winds with gust between 40 and 70mph. We did hold our breath. The screen made a screechy, creepy sound as it would extend with the wind and then retract. But it survived with absolutely no harm. The retraction spring is very big, so you have to be strong to pull the Awning all the way out and lock it in. I Installed it on our composite deck and attached it to the house which has vinyl siding. Good luck figuring out how to do that if you are not an Engineer. Luckily I am so I ended up designing a mounting system using square aluminum tubing and threaded steel rod to mount it though the siding and into the studs. Once it is installed it works great, cuts the wind and no one can see through it. Our deck is composite so I am now in the process of designing a method to strengthen the composite deck board that it is mounted to so that it do not come loose. ... show more
