Strong frame, very, very flimsy canopy portion. It wasn't easy to install and the first time the wind blew, it blew it out. (It wasn't be any means a big storm) Rather than install the flimsy film again, I went and had a piece of Plexiglas cut to size and installed it in the frame. . . It has survived rain and wind with no problem so far. I had asked the company about what type of storm rating it had before I bought it and here's what they said: 'We would like to inform you that there’s no warranty if the product is used during heavy rain or strong wind. This product was designed for normal weather like small rain or like small windy day.' Not very specific so I bought it anyhow and crossed my fingers. The wind that brought it down was very, very mild. Since the price was low, I still gave it 2 stars as I was able to buy something new to use with it and it will hopefully be much more sturdy now. ... show more

    • Provides much needed cover over my window A/C
I purchased this to provide cover over the top of a window A/C unit in one of my sheds, to prevent rain from getting into the small gaps between the A/C unit and the window frame as well as to keep the sun from beating directly on the unit and keep it cooler so it performs more efficiently. Initially a bit of a pain to put together as the polycarbonite panels would not stay in the tracks of the support arms, solved that by using some clear adhesive. So far, so good. We had a wind event last night that kicked our trash can into our neighbor’s yard, and the awning is still standing. It’s profile is very slender, so you almost don’t notice it as you walk up (which we like). Haven’t noticed any leaking where the three plastic sheets join up. But even at some point if it starts to leak, a little clear silicon will fix that right up. I would say, the trick to a secure installation is to get the end support pieces snug to the awning length as possible. Too wide and movement could cause some grief. ... show more

Unfortunately the size was off by 1/4 inch and couldn't install it. Tried to return but it was after the allowed time frame

    • Ridiculously Difficult to Assemble
This is cheap clear choroplast with no instructions. It wants to fall apart at every stage. I have a contractors license so I can't imagine the average homeowner trying to assemble this. Do no buy - it is junk
