We bought the 8 x 10 unit. This shade unit is very well made and works exactly as intended. The frame is very sturdy and has a nice white powder coated finish. All the hardware and the shade cover are very well made. The unit is a very good value for the price. My only issue is that the instructions are a little lacking in some areas but there was an extra sheet with color step by step pictures that really helped. Be sure you read and re-read the instructions several times so you get the installation process right. I like the fact that the angle of the shade can be adjusted depending on the time of year. It takes 2 people minimum to install this shade, but if you take your time you can get a nice install. I would not hesitate to buy Vevor products again in the future.

I've been try to come up with something to offer some shade for the second floor balcony. It faces east so it gets a lot of sun, especially in the first half of the day. It makes my son's room very warm. I think I paid $139. I think its pretty decent for that money. 1. The directions could be better. 2. My house has cedar siding. I did not use the compression bolts that came with it. I cutout the siding and put a block of pvc lumber in there to mount the bracket to.I used some construction adhesive between the pvc and the plywood sheeting. I then used a lag with washer to go though bracket, pvc and sheeting. Overall, it ended up being pretty sturdy. 3. Make sure it's level. It won't roll in and out properly if it isn't. 4. You definitely need two people for this. It will make your life a lot easier. So we will see if how it holds up. When it cools down I'd like to change the blocks behind the mounting brackets to something larger to add some strength, but its fine for now.

This awning is just what I wanted for my greenhouse. It looks good, it functions perfect. But it was difficult to assemble for sure. I had hoped it would have come partially assembled but it did not. Regardless, we did it and it is mounted and I couldn’t be happier with it. It opens and closes without any resistance. I can’t speak to fading or longevity as I’ve only had it up for about a week.

I bought this as a potential ‘throw away’ awning for the summer at $120 for an 8*10. I’m impressed at the solid components. If/when the awning falls apart, it’s designed to be replaced relatively easily and that’s what I’ll do. Pros - solid strong frame. Easy wind handle to roll up, roll out. Looks nice and finished. Adjustable angle. Cons- doesn’t pull super taut so at a sharp pitch, it doesn’t shed water easily and it pools which concerns me that it’ll collapse with too much weight. I could adjust the angle to help, but it still doesn’t pull tight so I wouldn’t want to assume this is a great solution as a rain awning, just sun. I roll it in every night.

This product is made well of very hefty metal components and good thickness fabric. A good value for the price. BUT BEWARE, extremely poor customer support taking days to reply via email with computer generated answers or answers from people who don't really understand the product. If you are not savvy at figuring out instructions on your own I would not recommend this product. There is conflicting information between the photograph instructions and the written instructions. Important details such as clearance above the awning, positioning of support brackets, applying fabric to rollers and valance, etc etc. The only hardware given is to apply to a vertical wall so you would have to get your own hardware if your application is anything but that. Also, the small bolts and nuts that are given to hold the awning to the brackets are near impossible to install as the rolled fabric is in the way just a engineering flaw.

This retractable awning is really very well made and easy to assemble, just follow the instructions closely and make sure everything is correct measurement wise before you install it. Works perfectly, looks and operates as well as the more expensive one that i have. Would definitely buy again.

The awning came with two different sets of directions, which unfortunately both were very poorly written. They did not have the same steps in the same order. With trial and error I was able to assemble. Installation was difficult but for the price, I am happy with the product. Will beed at least two people to assemble and hang.
