I didn't use the supplied anchors.. I installed mine on a concrete slab so I just used some 1/4" tapcons with washers that I already had laying around.. I used 6 2.5" for middle section and 4 1.25" for each post. Install probably took me about 20 min to put up. It's only been up for about 2 months and used maybe 12 times. I left it open/extended or exposed for 2 days. It rained one day so I left it open for another to dry. It will slightly start to sag in the middle when left open so I don't advise this to be used as a permanent enclosure. I'll also point out I have one of them fully extended, you can't make it any tighter, this one also sagged a bit in the middle as well. However it can be corrected by guiding it in right as I'll explain below... It is a canvas like material so I wouldn't recommend putting this around or leaving it open near a wood burning fire pit, hot ashes may burn through.. My only concern is how long the spring mechanism will hold up, only time will tell. That, being said, it's perfect for privacy around my hot tub! NOTE: When closing it, letting it retract in, try to use the top of the material to guide it in perfectly straight using the top of the internal spool, keeping it on track. My wife is only 5'2 so she was a little to short to guide it in as I mentioned. Failure to guide this in correctly will leave it looking sloppy the next time you use it, and it also won't seem closed all the way. This method will also help keep the material look straight when opening again as this will help correct the sag. Hopefully this will help some people out because there isn't any instructions for operation and maintenance..

I purchased 2 of these to enclose the space around my hot tub for privacy. I love that they can easily be retracted to keep my patio open when I’m not using the hot tub. Installation was fairly easy. The anchors that come with the screens appear weak, so we purchased sturdier ones before installing, and they are now very solid. They have been installed for almost a year, and no rust or noticeable weathering.

It's a nice screen, works well as advertised, but caveat emptor, the supplied concrete screws say they are supposed to be 10mm and use 10 mm masonry drill bits, and I couldn't get them installed with 10 mm drill bits. Instead I had drill 12 mm holes, to make room for plastic sleeve that accompanies the screws. You should be very careful about installing screws that are removable if you live in an HOA or have a landlord with restrictive policies. Another problem is that in the US, metric drill sizes are not easy to find, as everything is in inches, and the size you need for these screws is larger than 3/8" but less than 1/2" dimension. That means you can't use US drill bits because the nearest sizes would be too small or too large for the supplied screws. Also even worse, if you did buy 1/2" or 3/8" inch cement screws, they won't fit in the metal brackets for each pole because the holes drilled into footings are just too small. Thus I was stuck with a 10 mm hole, that required 12 mm drill bit to make it wide enough for the plastic anchors and allowed the concrete screws to be tightened. Thus the only real way to install this system is to use 10mm concrete screws, with the supplied plastic inserts, but be sure to pre-drill a 12 mm hole (not 10mm) because the 10mm hole just won't allow the screws in.

As you can see I made a modification to the retaining post by cutting off part of the bottom mount so I could mount the shade post to post. This give everything a cleaner look and a sturdier mount. Bought 4 of these to block wind and rain. They are really nice because they tuck away and allow an open patio when not in use. Quality feels good from casing, to shade material, and handle. Two Allen head screws mount these to the post which will make winter storage really easy. Very happy how this turned out.

Arrived early, was packed very well, could tell it was a quality product before unpacking. Installation was straight forward and easy. After brackets are installed an extra person is helpful to hold the screen while you tighten two screws. Very nice screen for when you need it. Only problem I had was that my drill was set with too much torque and snapped one of the bracket self-drilling screws.

The media could not be loaded. I purchased a VEVOR Retractable Awning in January 2023, and unfortunately, it failed shortly after the one-year warranty expired, with the screen detaching from the base. Upon contacting customer service for assistance, I was informed that due to updates in their manufacturing process, the parts for my model are no longer available, and my only options were to seek a local repair or to purchase a new model. This response is disappointing on multiple levels. A reasonable consumer expects a product, especially one intended for outdoor use, to last beyond just over a year. Additionally, the suggestion to repurchase the same product that already proved to be poorly designed and backed by inadequate customer support is unreasonable and not something I would consider. Therefore, I cannot recommend the VEVOR Retractable Awning if you are in the market for a reliable and durable product.

I love this screen. We use it to keep the dog from looking out the glass door wall and barking and disturbing the neighbors. We live Inna condo. Construction is pretty durable. It's been up all summer so hoping the coming winter here in Michigan will not be an issue. I did not read the description very well to know this needs some sore of base to mount to. 8 ended up buying some 4x4's and a couple of 4x4 base mounts and creating my own post to mount to. We live in a condo, so the HOA has not bothered us as I have stained the 4x4 to match the deck and it looks fine. The dog can move the blinds all she wants, but she cannot see around this screen. Definitely a decent product. Also note the return policy on this. I would recommend this product if you are looking for some sort of privacy screen. Would work great around a hot tub as well.
