I purchased this product because of the claim of durability. I have a 60kBTU natural gas fire pit table that is on a covered patio that is largely protected from the elements except from the occasional cross wind blowing mist from strong rain. The product quickly started to discolor and rust on the top, which honestly wasn’t that big of a deal, because it actually did do a good job of deflecting the heat. HOWEVER, the handle broke odd after just 2 months. And can we be honest, the it still actually gets very hot and not able to just pick up bare handed. The whole purpose of this purchase was for the deflection of heat (PASS), it’s looks (subpar after discoloring, but still not a total eye sore… PASS…I guess), the durability and versatility to move when metal is hot but handle supposed to be safe (FAIL)!!

The product seems sturdy and does deflect heat downward. The corners on it are significantly scratched. All four of them which takes away from appearance. I am not sure about these plastic coated feet on it as I don’t know if they will be damaged by heat

This really deflects heat horizontally as promised. We find it more pleasant to sit by the fire table on those cool nights. Quality product not easily available in Canada but glad Amazon.com offers it.
