I bought this as a gift for my husband to make our Friday Night Fish Fry. Well, he does much more than that. He loves this thing and friends have seen it in action and are impressed. It does take a lot of oil, but it heats up great and produced quality restaurant style food. Extremely great value! So far it has been easy to clean. It does take a little time to clean but not difficult. No issues with leaking or anything else that I had read in previous reviews. And we have probably used it at least a dozen times so far, if not more.

This was a great buy. It heats up quickly and holds a consistent temperature. being able to drain grease out through the valve when needed reduces any mess and works great. I would for sure purchase this again.

Don't expect the instructions to tell you to remove the thin white plastic coating the looks like a painted finish before assuming your item was delivered used and scratch OR that the heating elements won't heat unless -- in addition to turning the switch to the "ON" position and setting the temperature dial, that you also MUST activate the timer dial. Otherwise, the red light that indicates the element(s) are heating up won't illuminate. For these reasons, I immediately assumed the product was used and/or defective and decided to seek to return it. Then I realized from reading an imbedded text message image from another purchaser's review that the reason the product wasn't working. So I used the product and was planning to keep it when after the first use I noticed that oil was slow leaking out from behind the cover over the line that exits from the front of the fryer frame to the pour spouts, leaving a mess and fire hazard, so now I am returning for a true, identified defect and I won't be buying this again.
