I wasn't sure I needed an air fryer but when my convection toaster oven finally died, I thought this might be a good replacement. I'm so glad I took the leap! I use this more than any other appliance (outside of the coffee maker!). The first thing I tried was toast. LOL But I ended to know if it was going to do the job of my dead toaster. Some users have complained that it doesn't toast well. It does great, just not in the traditional way. I pre-heat it for a few minutes while cutting my bread and then put it on sear. After a few minutes, flip the bread! Now you will get a nice toasting on both sides. Next up, rotisserie chicken. This is a total game changer. It could not be easier. The hardest part is finding a small chicken (no more than 4 pounds). But wow is this delicious and it does not take long! We use the rotisserie basket to do our fries as then you don't have to shake and rearrange them to get them crispy. The pre-programmed functions are super helpful and take the guesswork out of converting a recipe. I use the programs for sausage, brats, bacon, and various veggies (we sous vide so I do not use the grill feature). Oh yes - bacon. So quick and easy! I do line the bottom tray with foil just to make clean up a bit easier but I will never do bacon any other way. On the note of cleanup - I agree with other reviews, clean it ASAP! I find it much easier to keep everything clean if I do so as soon as the unit cools off. I will generally toss the mesh trays in a sink of hot water and then use a kitchen brush to get any baked on stuff off. Only then do they go in the dishwasher. Same with the bottom tray. Make sure to remove and stuck on food prior to putting in the dishwasher. Use a clean rag to wipe down the inside (important so you don't get buildup). One of my favorite things about cleanup on this unit is that the door comes off easily. Yes, others complain about this but once you see how it operates and you know how to open and close it properly, the fact that you can take it off to clean far outweighs the issue of it being easy to come off. No more crumbs caught in the crack! And as an added bonus, the glass can be removed as well if necessary (I have not had to do so yet). This is a fairly large unit so take measurements. that's the only real "con" I can think of! ... show more

This is the second Nuwave air fryer I have purchased of this same exact model. After the fan stopped working on the last one (I had it for 6 years), I tried a different brand that had air fry, toaster oven and all of the bells and whistles. The first time I air fried with it I had the house so smoked up I had to open all of the windows. I absolutely hated that brand, so I ordered another Nuwave since I had such good luck with the first one. They've also kind of upgraded the fryer to include a grill, which I absolutely loved. I have had Nuwave products for many years. I have had the Nuwave dome version. Like that version, it was bulky and hard to deal with in a tight kitchen layout. Upgraded to this one. So far after 5 months I still use it nearly everyday. Cons: the trays will slide the rest of the way out if you are trying to pull out the trays to flip the food or serve from it. Must be prepared to lay something over the inside of the door. When you pull out the trays it is drip city. Buy some good silicon heat resistant gloves to pick up the trays. I use a cookie sheet to cover the door and place the trays on it. The way the door is designed is horrible. Grease and crumbs fall in the seems of the door. Use a pan to cover it like me. Trial and error. You have to clean it like an oven to remove grease from the walls. I like the rotisserie. It is awesome. ... show more

    • This makes cooking so easy
So this year I wanted to cook at home more and this alone helped me accomplish that. It's easy to just preheat this, throw what you want to eat into it, and then do whatever you want while it's cooking on it's own. The fact that it has a window and a light so you can see how it's cooking is a huge plus on this compared to other air fryers. Cleaning it isn't too bad, just the top is difficult because the heating coil in the way. The annoying thing is the door. It's designed to easily come off so you can clean it. It comes off a little to easy. Most of the time when I open it, it partially comes out of one of the hinges and I have to make sure it's back in right so I can shut the door. Those are the only two real negatives, and they are easy to deal with. Overall I highly recommend this air fryer, just wait till it's on sale. It goes on sale a little below $160 most of the time. Do not rely on the recipes. Cooking time is depends on power. It is good feature the ability to choose 3 settings for electric power- 900, 1500 and 1800 Wt. But make sure to choose power which is the best for the food you preparing. I burned frozen pizza when heat it at 1800 Wt. even with the temperature setting lower than instructed :) ... show more

I was just pan frying potatoes(cast iron) and it was taking forever with little success; then I remembered my new Nuwave. Threw it in there and that did the trick so quickly !!!
