I purchased this and was very eager for it to arrive. It appeared perfect for my home gym and matched nicely with the gym quality equipment I've been picking up for a very fair price. Although my initial order arrived with some manufacturing problems, I contacted Valor per the box instructions and they were VERY fast to respond and VERY easy to work with. The parts that I had problems with were replaced within a week and I am extremely pleased with this purchase. The bench assembly was pretty much a no-brainer, and it's been very solid and stable for use. I do wish they'd included a couple hole caps for the foot bar if owners would prefer not to use it, but that's a personal preference and hardly a criticism against the product as advertised.     • Solid, quality piece of Equipment
Bought this Valor piece primarily for doing sitting tricept extensions behind my head with a dumbbell weight. The reason I chose this piece is because it has a shorter upright backrest. That means the dumbbell won't bang against the top of the backrest when you are lowering it behind your head while doing tricept extensions. Obviously this bench can be also used for many other exercises like military presses, lateral raises, front raises, bent over raises, curls, etc... It was easy to assemble. You'll need a 17 mm socket and 17 mm wrench to attach the 4 bolts and nuts, and 4 screws (for the seat and backrest). A hex key is included for the 2 hex screws that hold the foot rest in place. The pieces and upholstery were in good shape, although the gray metal parts had a few faint scratches. Not enough to send it back though. Assembly was very easy and the bench looked good when assembled. It is very solid. I would consider it "commercial quality" and it should last a lifetime. Valor products appear to be almost identical to the Bodycraft and Bodysolid brands. I wonder if they come out of the same factory? Anyway, they are all high quality; a pleasant surprise when there is so much rickety junk out there. Pluses: Heavy, solid, construction. Easy to assemble. It looks good. Has many functions. Commercial quality. Negatives: A few faint scratches on the metal parts. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for. Conclusion: I would buy it again, and recommend this product. ... show more

    • GOOD BENCH
Another good product. Just got it today, assembled it in minutes and tried it out with some dumbbell triceps extensions and it worked great. Reasonable price, good design, well built and looks good. I've bought other Chinese made equipment and one thing I don't like is button head bolts that need an allen wrench to tighten. A lot of the time the allen wrench will slip and they are hard to hold on to when you're really torqueing the nut down. Valor uses regular headed bolts that you can use an open or closed end wrench or a socket on. ... show more

I completely agree with previous reviewer's -- Robbrown's - comments. I bought this bench to do seated exercises -- triceps extensions, curls, and presses. It is rock solid, comfortable, and durable. Assembly - all the parts were there (nuts, bolts, and washers), both a socket and lug wrench are needed. I was so impressed with the quality that I started looking at other Valor Athletic items. I just purchased the BD-7 Power Rack with Lat Pull and couldn't be happier with the Valor quality and attention to detail. This bench is commercial quality at a very good price. ... show more

This piece of equipment was purchased to compliment Valor's DB-61 cable crossover that I recently bought. It is a perfect fit. Both pieces are built very well. I've seen/worked with lesser grade equipment in local gyms, so this could be used for commercial grade. It is a great piece added to my home gym. Solid, comfortable...fair price. Also some parts were damaged when it arrived. I called Valor and they got on it to replace those parts. Great customer service. Thank you Jeff!
