I originally ordered one of the all plastic automatic pool fillers but the design did not enable me to adjust the water height low enough so it was not to the top of the skimmers. This product permits an adjustment down to 9" as compared to 8" which is what I needed. The difference in the quality of the build was significant. Instead of plastic filler tube and mechanism which according to reviews frequently gets stuck, this product has a stainless encased hose and stainless steel guides which will not jam. Also, it was easier and heavier to fill the base with water than with a bunch of rocks like the plastic fillers. The only negatives is that it makes a noticeable hissing sound when it is filling (which is often because the water comes in slowly) and the instructions were not the best.

The media could not be loaded. The pool auto fill is terrible. The water keeps leaking on the top so pretty much the water will never stop filling to the pool. I hope seller test this product before selling to other people.

It was easy to assemble. While the instruction is a bit confusing, but just layout all the parts and follow the instruction, you will be fine. I also appreciated the adjustable stands since my pool edge has a lip and no flat spots. The only thing I don't like about it is the "small print" that you need to rotate the rubber disk on top of the float every 3 to 6mo. The process of doing it is a bit goofy too and the package included a very cheap looking needle nose plier for this purpose. I think it is safe to ditch the plier since I can go to the dollar store and grab a better one. After looking at how the rubber disk is used to stop the water, I could see why it needs to be rotated because eventually the disk will bend so you want to wear it out as evenly as you can. The package does include an extra disk. In my opinion, the manufacture can ditch the plier and give more rubber disks and extra metal pins just in case or have some sort of solid plate backing up the rubber disk so you don't need to rotate it. I don't think the pin that holds the float can survive more then a few bend rotating the disk.

Good build quality. No good design. Literally never shuts off. Just constantly spews a mistake out of the top as it doesn't allow enough water out to raise the level enough to close the valve completely. If u wanna hear a water hiss for the rest of your life and waste thousands, this is your device. My plastic float version works much better
