We've considered a sun shade sail for years and finally measured and planned for one. The triangle worked the best for our space to shade our west facing back sliding door. Our backyard starts a full staircase higher than our backdoor, so we have an odd space to shade. But this canopy works wonders. We get a shaded back door from the midday sun using this canopy (instead of scooting around patio umbrellas. We still need to install a permanent post for one end of the canopy, we have a temporary one installed to ensure this is the correct location, thus the canopy is not stretched out as much as it should be. Remember, canopies like the will not protect your space from rain, the rain will come right through it. But we get the benefit of lots of shade in a place we cannot add a porch roof. My only complaint is the color - the sand color is not my favorite, but we struggled finding the right size in a color we wanted, so we ended up going with the right size and quality over the right color. It's a better choice and I am sure the color will grow on me over time. I found really good hardware for installation here on Amazon (search: GOTGELIF Shade Sail Hardware Kit for Triangle Rectangle Sun Shade Sail Installation). Overall, I am happy with the purchase and have no complaints (short of the color, which is personal preference). It was $30 when I got it, it's about $17 now (summer's over!), a great price for the sun shade. This sun shade sail is a real bargain compared with others on the market. I was happy to be able to find that the sand color is pretty neutral and coordinates well with my tan ("beach beige") deck.

We installed this over a portion of our pool that tends to be in the sun through most of the afternoon. We used a kit for installation that we also found here on amazon (look at my other reviews). This was not the first shade sail we have had, but is in keeping with others we have found here on amazon. It is a plasticy woven fabric, we have owned a similar one for years that has held up in all types of weather, no color fading and no stretching, that said, we have high hopes for this sail.
