    • No support...don't buy
Used this trimmer once and the string broke off inside the tool. Very difficult to rewind string on head. Wouldn't bump out new string. Went thru channels by taking to toro dealer. They were very helpful but unable to resolve issue and were told by Toro to redirect me back to the toro website. By then 30 days had passed and Toro refused to issue a refund. Return policy is very restrictive: 30 days, original packing materials and customer pays to return. While I was happy with the other 60v series tools this tool is poorly designed and did not function properly. Had it been my first purchase in the 60 v series, I would not have purchased any of the other tools. Because of their very poor customer service it will be the last toro product I buy. ... show more

    • Strong but string is bad and replacements hard to find
String doesn't come out, doesn't fit standard .095 and other .065 size if not Toro's expensive version. Had to unwind manually every 2 minutes. Website hard to find parts when head cap broke. It's powerful, but a waste of money if the cap doesn't work. I searched for a strong electric weedeater. This is strong but not worth it unless you can find replacement cap parts. ... show more

    • Powerful hardware hampered by design flaws
I purchased the trimmer and blower because the Toro Recycler mower was such a great performer. I came close to taking it back because I couldn't see the line spin, and there is no attachment you get on other trimmers that helps you keep your distance from walls and fences. On top of that, at 5'8" tall the thing is way too long for someone of my height! You probably have to be at least 6' to be able to easily hold the trimmer at the correct angle, so it will cut effectively. I just didn't seem to get a clean cut no matter what I did. I read somewhere you have to move opposite the spin of the line, and in checking found it does indeed spin clockwise! So I must move in the opposite direction in order to get a consistent cut. CLUMSY right now - maybe with practice and use I will become accustomed to it. I also found it has 2 speeds and on the lower speed you can see the arc of the line if you are using a colored line and not the Toro line. (this information AND information on removing the line head spindle is MISSING from the user guide) I had always used my trimmer for edging and this is ultra clumsy. I'm going to break out the drimmle and cut out a section of the shaft out and order a second handle to try to make it usable for this task. I am determined to only keep up with one set of manufacture's batteries, so I am determined to make this work. Otherwise, I would have returned it. This is a powerful tool, and it saves me more and more time with each use as I learn its quirks and my limitations. I envision only taking 5 minutes to trim and edge once the tool and I are on the same page. That was taking about 45 minutes with my old trimmer, which had a proprietary line that is way too soft.     • Hard to get parts for this model
Works well. But head wear is quick and replacement heads are 2-3x more than other trimmers and difficult to get hold of. When this dies, will get a different model possibly from a different company.
