Let me save you some time and heartache. Don't buy a gas powered pressure washer that isn't powered by Honda. Forget Westinghouse - it's junk. All-in-all this pressure washer is a beast. The GX200 motor starts real easy, and runs good. The pump is powerful and is adjustable which is nice.

I did quite a bit of research before buying this unit. I had also purchased a Generac 6590 from an eBay seller, but it was damaged during delivery and I returned it. I was impressed with how that unit was set up, but after doing some additional research, I decided to go with the Simpson. The Honda engine should be bulletproof and after going through multiple disposable electric cleaners over the years, I wanted to something with a triplex pump. Amazon shipping was fast and free, and my unit was packed well and had no shipping damage. One of the wheels had some damage, but it seemed pretty clear that it happened during assembly at the factory. I contacted Amazon and the immediately offered to take it back or refund me enough to replace the wheel. I accepted the refund and was impressed by how easily they handled the transaction. As far as the unit goes, I am very pleased. It was easy to set-up (read directions carefully, especially if this is your first gas pressure washer), and it started on the first pull. I also purchased an EZ Clean rotary surface cleaner (15") and this combination made quick work of my driveway and sidewalk. I would highly recommend getting one, it was a huge time saver and I was impressed with the results. This unit is exactly what I was hoping it would be. It uses quality components, it has a simple layout (pro in mind), it's small and relatively light, and has more than enough power to do what I need. Note, I have also ordered a 50' Simpson monster hose. The hose that comes with it is fine, I just wanted more reach, and with pressure washers, it is much safer to add reach with the pressure hose than simply buying a longer garden hose. Supply flow is critical to keeping the pump in one piece, and while you may have enough water pressure to supply this washer with a 50' hose, you probably don't have enough to overcome the reduced flow from an old 100' (or longer combo) hose. I didn't take any chances. My water supply is running through a 3/4" x 50' hose. I would highly recommend this pressure cleaner. ... show more

I might have given this 3-4 stars if it had arrived in working condition. The fitting on the pump that receives the hose was stripped. Said they would have one here in three days. Took over a week. Meanwhile, I have a job pending and weather closing in for the season (needed to paint). If I were to order again, it would be their ALH3228-S Aluminum Series. This one has an aluminum frame but the critical difference is that they use a CAT brand pump. It is supremely better than their typical AAA pump, which people complain about constantly. Honda makes great products and I project that the engine performs well on any model. The problem is in the cheap AAA pump. Also, Simpson uses aluminum fittings on many of their models and this is a mistake. They are too soft to last. Overall, I would say to look elsewhere. One of the major chainsaw manufacturers (headquartered in Germany but made in Virginia) makes a stunning power washer that gets excellent reviews. It is sold by the largest independent hardware store chain in America. Almost every location has at least one model on display. I have seen them and they are commercial grade but affordable. Price seems pretty good! It works well, for the most part it starts quite well. Really good pressure! The only problem is. WARNING!!! If there is any pressure built up in the system the kick back can tear your arm off!!! Always start at an idle, and make sure the water is flowing freely thru the machine and out at the business end, if that ain’t happening be ready for a nasty kick back. Oh, yes the lady that answered the phone at Simpson, is no help at all and she says she is at the top, and there is no one else but her to help you. She will give you a list of there certified warranty places, but when you call them they either don’t know that they are or they aren’t anymore. So be ready to handle any issues that come up yourself. But other then that, honestly, I do like the machine!!! ... show more

This is a great power washer-- I paid FAR less than the current advertised price of 557 and it was WELL worth the price. I was surprised by the overall small size of the entire unit, its small and compact, the pump itself is incredibly small for the pressure it produces. The hose seems to be high quality but only time will tell on this part, the gun itself is much higher quality than previous units I have had and should last for my use. It runs fairly quiet much quieter than the older cheaper 'oil less' pumps. I have had two cheaper power washers, whey have worked well but the pumps never last, time will tell if this one will outlast the others. I do know this time around if I need a new pump the motor will be trouble free and the pump can easily be changed out. The first start of the Honda GX200 was a bear, I was concerned that this was going to be a continuing problem. After the first start every start after has been second pull. IMO there should have been a touch more oil included, to me it just didn't seem like quite enough and this possibly was part of the starting problem (possibly low oil), hard to say. UPDATE: Having used this power washer for a month now, no issues and starts first or second pull every time. Some say the hose is a weak link but as of right now its like new but as many have mentioned keep it off the exhaust! I still stand behind my star review. Update: At exactly 90 days my hose developed the bubbles as others have reported, luckily there is a 90 day warranty on the hose. I called on day 91 and after a little hassle they were kind enough to send me a new hose under warranty. That said it still deserves the 5 star review base on the actual machine. I do understand hoses are quite pricey and at this price level they are going to cut back on something in this case it seems to be the hose. ... show more
