Item was delivered in perfect condition. The quality was excellent and it worked extremely well. Didn't know what to expect but was very pleased with the power and its smooth operation. By the way, the unit was prefilled with hydraulic oil. Great little splitter.

East to assemble, needed 1/2 qt of 10w30 oil for engine, fuel, & 2 gallons hydraulic fluid for ram setup. Started right up and split some average logs I had laying around. Real test to come when I split some live oak in the next week or two. Up to 16” in diameter & 18” long. It’s 116 heat index so I’m waiting awhile. Ram works smoothly but seems to push right on the larger logs as it extends to its full length. Hope it isn't bending and wonder if it can really handle 16" wide logs. November 2022 Update, have run a cord of live oak thru this splitter. Pro’s: fast, lots of power, strong engine, easy to move around. Con’s: track bar bent on one side, power ram has started to track/push right as it compresses the log, which is the side the track bar has bent, pretty loud, one of the plastic tires has developed a flat spot so it rolls lumpy. ... show more

I bought this in October of 2022. I was concerned about the size of it at first, but now, after 1 1/2 yrs of use, I am sold on the quality and the strength. I live on a large, wooded property with a lot of dead and dying Elm trees. Recent heavy snowstorms took down a lot of dead and live trees. I was able to split wood up to 18" in diameter with the splitter seeming to do it effortlessly. If you are concerned about the engine, it is a Honda knockoff. I'm a retired small engine mechanic. So far, I'm impressed with this engine. My only complaint is the ram and hydraulic cylinder are about 4 inches too short. The plate on the ram doesn't push the wood all the way to the splitting head. If the wood is a bit "stringy", it doesn't split completely. Bottom line, this has been well worth the money. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. The SUPERHANDY 20 ton log splitter made quick work of some 20" turkey oak! This was from a dying turkey oak tree I cut down a few weeks prior. The two speed pump really helps split smaller wood FAST and switches to low gear, high pressure, on the 20" bigger stuff. It's not HEAVY DUTY, but it was cost effective and it'll work great for a homeowner like me! Helpful tip. The ram is a bit "small" in diameter vs splitters costing well over a thousand dollars, make sure you logs have straight cuts on the ends and are at least 16" long! If you've got a short and crooked log, the ram could bend!! Top marks for: Very Cost effective (especially when it goes on a super sale!) COMPACT 2 speed pump Quite at 1/3 ~ 1/2 throttle (plenty of power!) Fairly foolproof Easy to transport, it's not that heavy! Auto return lever Super sharp wedge FAST cycle time LOTS of splitting force! Cons It's not really a "HEAVY DUTY" splitter. It's not trying to be either. Not towable (towable models are WAAAAY above this price point!) This is great if you're looking for a cost effective, COMPACT, gas powered log splitter. Other splitters will give you higher horsepower, name brands, more force, better cutting accessories, longer run time (larger hydraulic tank), faster speeds, and a more robust ram design, BUT at a much much higher price point. ... show more

I purchased this and it was delivered in March. It arrives in a box. I don’t know how the box was handled on its way here nor do I know how the driver handled it. I did open the box up. Everything is disassembled and the fasteners are all in a bag. I did begin the assembly when it came time to install the hydraulic system onto the body, there was a problem hydraulic control system has a box which on one end has a lever which you moved back-and-forth to control the movement of the ram. Opposite of that on this box is an aluminum cap that is fastened to the box. , there was a problem hydraulic control system has a box which on one end has a lever which you moved back-and-forth to control the movement of the ram. Opposite of that on this box is an aluminum cap that is fastened to the box with two Allen screws. If you look at the photograph, you will see a small aluminum disk that was the end of that cap. It broke off somehow in shipment or prior to that I don’t know, but Inside that box along with the other components that I assembled were these few pieces here that I believe were inside of that aluminum cap it appears to be a spring, a check and some kind of black metal piece that appears to fit in to the end of the interior portion. in any event, I called this company several times to finally just get somebody on the horn and a man name. Arthur told me that he would take one of these caps off of their other machines in stock and then he would ship it to me and he also told me he would take a video of him removing it from the log splitter they had in stock , and then he would send it to me so I could see the order of the components inside the receiver or whatever that thing is the portion of the control valve that was inside that cap. Bottom line, I received neither I have never received that part nor have I received a video and now every time I call I get put on hold for about 2 to 2 1/2 minutes and then a man’s voice comes on thanking me for calling Great circle and we’re sorry we can’t talk to you right now. Please call another time. Do not buy a single thing from this company. They are the absolute worst. I did receive due to the grace given me by Amazon a full refund for this machine, but now I have an assembled brand new log splitter sitting in my garage, which I cannot use. So, I am thinking I will see if I can find some aluminum mastic and maybe do a little bit of grinding on the edges of both to smooth the edges and then see if I can reconstruct this cap in the interior and exterior portions with some kind of aluminum bonding putty That will harden as aluminum and then I can of course you know take my Dremel to it and sand it down. But overall, I absolutely do not recommend you buy anything from these people. ... show more
