If you're in need of a reliable, powerful, and durable chainsaw, look no further. This chainsaw will do the trick, provided you're comfortable with the slightly heavier weight and potential learning adjustment period. This chainsaw seems to be an excellent investment for both professional and non-professional use.

  • Noobies be warned, it’s an Upgrade!
Cuts through trees like butter. I bought this chainsaw to upgrade from my newbie 18” Poulan Pro, which has been a very durable saw and great for me to learn from and become comfortable with. I wanted a newer, better branded saw with more power because my wife wants us to clear out multiple BIG trees to get more sunlight on the pool. I’m not a veteran lumberjack, but I have common sense and can be handy. I have been able to fell several 28” diameter + trees WITH THIS SAW! And as I said, I don’t front as an expert. But I take my time and careful measurements, cut my notches, and have great success dropping them down. Cutting them up goes by smooth as the power and husqvarna chains just rip through the wood leaving nice, BIG, chips. It’s almost too good. In the beginning I kept accidentally cutting all the way through it seems to cut so well and fast. Consequently, I nicked the ground on a few occasions. I eventually started letting off the throttle much sooner which meant the last few runs would stop the cut perfect for either turning the tree or just kicking the piece off. The ONLY thing I would make other less experienced chainsawers like myself award is that it is DEFINITELY a big step up from an 18” saw. The extra 2 inches and power definitely required me to adjust my handling and operating. I found I was getting more fatigued quicker trying to adjust. However, by the end of day 2, beginning day 3, my body became more accustomed and I have cutting stamina similar to when I was using the 18” 42cc Poulan. All in all, I am very glad I purchased this saw. I also purchased 3 extra chains, both products were through fix_my_toys, whom I ALSO HIGHLY RECOMMEND. I won’t tell the whole story, but long of the short is my purchase of the 3 extra chains were never delivered with my chainsaw, but according to amazon status both products were shipped together under the same tracking number which said they were BOTH delivered to me in person (in actuality it was my wife who was home for delivery). When I got home from work and inspected the delivery, I found I had actually ONLY received the chainsaw, NO extra chains. I contacted them experiencing high anxiety thinking, β€œI’m screwed. No way are they going to believe me when the tracking order says they were delivered directly to the customer.” I messaged them what happened and my thoughts of why It would appear that it WAS delivered because the chainsaw made it fine, but the chainsaw and extra chains BOTH shared the same tracking number. Make sense? Anyways, I messaged them a day before Easter no less and they responded back to me not more than a few hours later apologizing for the mix up and the promise they would resend the chains ASAP. No questions asked. I received the chains 3-4 days later. I could NOT have been a more satisfied customer. I was so worried they would think I’m some slime ball guy trying to milk them for free chains. But thankfully they trusted me and made good in their order. So not only am Zo happy with the products I purchased from them, but I am MORE than thrilled and impressed with their customer service and dedication to their patrons. They have definitely made me a customer for life! ... show more

  • 5/5 Husqvarna makes great stuff
Great Saw! STARTS EASY! RIPS GOOD! I like this thing, although I'm only about 4-5 tankfuls of gas into run-time I am impressed. It's fairly heavy, but that's standard with a larger chainsaw. There is ample power. And even "big" logs like 18" diameter live Oak, this saw buzzed right through. I pretty much had no problem ripping through any length up to the full 20" bar length. I have to mention a few of the gripes of other reviewers which I think are unfounded. Feel free to skip this part as it's not directly related to the chainsaw or you just don't want to hear the b*tching. To the person that said the saw comes with a "SAFETY CHAIN". I award you no points and may god have mercy on your soul. What in the f is a "safety chain"? Is that the one that doesn't cut you really bad if it makes contact with your skin??? There is no such thing as a safety chain.... something like this should not have to be explained. For the record, the chain the saw comes with cuts absolutely great and is not a so called "safety chain" to the best of my knowledge. To the person that said this saw is hard to start. You either got a defective saw or you really have no idea how to start a chainsaw. This saw starts very easily right out of the box. I found the starting instructions superfluous. Because every time I've started this saw I've simply done it through intuition and it started almost immediately or with some quick adjustments. So OVERALL I really like this saw, it seems capable of handling almost anything I will need to cut. It has good power and it cuts really fast. Everything on the saw seems to function as it should, the oiler at the medium setting seems perfect, the chain tensioner is easy to use and works good. The chain brake works as it should, I hit it with my hand or something and it engaged at one point locking the chain in place. I simply unlocked it and it continued cutting. I of course accidentally dipped the bar into some mud and it bound the chain. I took the cover off and simply cleaned out the mud then I spun the chain a few times and the saw was good to go. Easy and efficient to remove cover and remove clogged wood chips etc. Oiler never stopped working, chain tensioner also never stopped working. Engine is easy to start and I've had no issues to report in about the first 5 hrs of run time. It's about average on fuel efficiency expect something like an hour (if cutting the whole time) for a full tank of fuel. I like Husqvarna in general and I like this saw, I hope it holds up well over time. If I can I will update this review in a couple years or so. Thanks for reading, leave me a comment below and I will reply if I can. THIS SAW IS LOUD YOU WILL PROBABLY NEED OR WANT HEARING PROTECTION ... show more

  • Heavy Duty and Dependable
Husq 455 Rancher is one heavy duty (non-professional) chainsaw. I have had no problems with it, never had to modify the carb settings, she starts every time, and it operates well. I have only some minor complaints, but most of these are inherent in chainsaws in general. First, its heavy, but it is 55cc's of tree-chewing power in your hands. After 8 hours in the field, you will have shoulders like a body builder. Second, the chain jumps track easier than my other saws. this could be just related to the break-in period as the chain stretches and heats up, but I am suprised it jumps so easily, so i watch the tension closely. Be aware that if it jumps off at high speed, the teeth get easily bent and will need to be fixed beofe going back in the bar. Now for some of the good: First, the handles are well placed and very ergonomic to use with gloves. they are strong and allow good operation confidence. Second, plenty of power for cutting REAL trees. This isn't just for branch trimming, she'll go hard into the base trunk of a tree without complaint. third, the bar oil is sized to match the gas. So everytime you run out of gas, just fill the bar oil and you will never run out of bar oil before gas. Great for chain life. Lastly, I found she will restart immedieately if when you push the stop to stop it, lift the stop back up to to prevent fuel drain. I get one pull starts after breaks everytime. Enjoy this saw. ... show more
