This will be perfect for travel. I needed this specific model because the top opening is flexible (I need to fit a rechargable heat pack in there, and the rigid neck one wouldn't let it fit in). Just note, it will keep turning on and off to keep the water piping hot, so don't just turn it on and walk away expecting it to boil and shut off - it shuts off when boils then turns back on when water cools off. ... show more

I bought one a few months back and really loved it so I bought another one but this one doesn't shut off when water gets hot I am not so sure I like it not shutting itself off

I filled it to near-capacity and turned it on; it came to a boil in just over 5 minutes and shut off automatically - just what I wanted it to do. Felt substantial and safe pouring from the full hot pot. Voltage selection switch is on the bottom (so set the correct voltage before filling), can be changed using a small coin.
