T-fal Ceramic Refresh, Ceramic Nonstick Jumbo Cooker With Lid, 5 Quart, Oven Broiler Safe 350F, Cookware, Kitchen, Saute Pan, Pots and Pans, Mint Green This 5 quart sauté pan is part of my third generation of T-fal cookware. Not that they wear out so quickly, but rather because I have been cooking with them for about 45 years! Honestly, my former pieces would still be around except that my husband seems to forget to use the appropriate utensils with the non stick coatings. The quality of all my T-fal cookware has been top notch. I have a large collection of premium stainless steel pots and pans, but there are some foods that just work better with the non stick varieties. My former large non stick sauté pan, was used more frequently than any other pan that I own and I’m sure this one will be a favorite as well. This is my first ceramic coated pan and I’m looking forward to seeing how that works in the long run. I have used the pan twice so far. The first time was just to make pasta. I prefer a large sauté pan for pasta as longer pieces of pasta fit in easily and you don’t need wait for a huge pot of water to boil. The pan sat flatly on my electric cooktop and the water boiled in a reasonable amount of time. I loved how simple it was to clean out especially compared to my stainless steel pots where the starch from the pasta always seems to stick and discolor the insides. The second time, the pan was used to make a casserole that included pasta, vegetables and cheeses. Not only was cleanup simple, it was easy to remove all the food from the pan. No wasting any of it. I have previously had T-fal with thermal hot spots and it’s a great way to know when the pan is hot enough to put in your ingredients. No more soggy diced onions! Additional features that I really like are the lovely soft mint green color, the vented see through lid, and the double handles. The pan is very light weight, making it easy to lift when it’s full and the double handles are much sturdier than one long one. Lastly, I love that the screws on lid’s knob and the handles can be tightened. Although they are firmly attached, I have had pans where handles loosened and I could not tighten them. Interestingly, the cost of this pan is lower than most of the others that I considered, making it a great value. Whether you are planning to keep or gift this item, you are bound to be equally satisfied. ... show more
