Love the copper color. I like that these cubes are not particularly solid after a while because I like to eat/chew ice cubes. Be sure to keep the water level up or these make just the end of the bullet-sized half circle ice cubes. You also need to poke the cubes with the scoop from time to time to keep the cubes from blocking the "eye". This machine will stop making cubes when the tray is only half full as the cubes stack on the inside before the tray is half full. It's fine as long as you break up the cubes once or twice a day so they don't bunch up at the back and block the "eye" before making the other half of the tray's worth of cubes. These are relatively noisy. I hear them "throwing the ice cubes across the room" from the other end of the house - at least that's what it sounds like. Doesn't bother me. ... show more

I will qualify by saying this review is based on one day of use right out of the box. Durability over time not included. It's great. Deploy and let it sit, overnight preferably. Pour water, set ice size and grab a cold one. The clear lid window is more convenient than you would think. Monitor ice level and you can kind of monitor the sequence of events. This unit is NOT insulated. Know that any ice in the bin is melting at all times. HOWEVER, Keep the first batch of the load in the bin. It will suffer, but the second batch will cool it down and the third batch preserves the bullets fine until full and you empty. I ran a full tank through the unit first. A YouTube video showed the walls of the first bullets would be thin (they're hollow), but my first were fine. The first small cubes took 6:17 to drop and the first large cubes 7:21. The cubes are plenty hard and get harder in the freezer. The cycles were very consistent after that. I'm using it to fill my freezer bin because I don't trust the plumbing connection on the fridge. I think it will take 5-6 hours to do that. NOISE? Forget about it. Watching TV in the other room and you can't hear it. Watching TV in the kitchen right next to the machine, you can't really hear it until you try. The fan is the noise, but it's engineered big enough to be quiet. You CAN hear the release and dumping of the bullets, but it's NO LOUDER than an in-freezer ice maker. Also, the sounds of the cubes help you monitor the cycles. PLEASE PEOPLE: EATING ICE is NOT good for you and doctors advise strongly against it. And that includes "chewable" ice. C'mon, you know it's bad. Look it up. This ice maker does its job well. It's just a bit noisy - and can sound kind of "clunky" at times, compared to our previous ice maker. No problems in functionality, and it looks nice on our countertop!

Brand new, wrapped in plastic, new plastic smell, packed tightly with Styrofoam and plastic. Literally a piece of crap right out the box. Hooked it up, did what needed to be done according to the instructions: just pour in water. Over the course of three hours, I tried desperately to try to figure out what was going on with this thing, Because no matter what, it will NOT MAKE ICE. It doesn't get cold whatsoever. It's super hot in my house everywhere.But my room, so I try to take it to my room.Thinking that it was a temperature issue, and the same thing persisted. Reading the manual, it says that it could withstand up to ninety degrees ambient temperature, and it's definitely not ninety degrees in my house. Furthermore, it mentions that the indicator lights should be green and even pictures and videos that i've seen show. The indicator lights as green, but mine are showing up white. I've had it for less than 24 hours, have tried to operate it for just 8, to no avail. I'm angry beyond words, especially because a nice ice maker that fits the color scheme of my kitchen is hard enough to find, but also desperately needing an ice maker in a home with no central cooling in the summertime And refrigerator without an automatic icemaker, having ice in the summer is not just a must, its a human right. And the fact that I spent a good amount of money that I didn't even have on this piece of junk, knowing that I'm most likely have to go through the hectic process of Boxing, get back up taking it to a Post Office, waiting for a refund and trying to get another one, is enough for me to find the creators that sanctioned this faulty crap personally and tell them more than a few choice and carefully selected words. ... show more

My LG fridge ice maker frequently flakes out and we had 9 people during the holidays. On schedule, the LG stopped making ice, as it always does when you need it most. This little guy performed very well and kept up with drinks for 6 adults and 3 kids. I bought this feeling skeptical about it not working, and I found out that I love it. I make ice coffees all the time and I love alkaline water (Eternal Water is my brand) and I use alkaline water to make my ice cubes. It's just very stylish, handy, tucked away on the counter. Its ready and makes ice and under 5 minutes. Once you turn it on, put your water in the reservoir and walk away, you will have the first batch of ice and under five minutes.
