    • Too Heavy - Worked only the first 2 months
I have purchased this to help charging my Tesla with EVgo stations. It worked the first 1-2 months. However, it is no longer working. Sometimes, the charge starts for few minutes and then gets interrupted after few minutes. I noticed that it is too heavy and if I try to hold it up, it would charge a bit. I am not sure what the issue is with this charger (poor quality of the contacts or heavy weight leading to imbalance). But I am not longer able to use it and I would have returned it if I could. ... show more

This CCS adapter will allow you to charge your Tesla at non-Tesla fast charging stations such as Electrify America. Using it is simple: Just plug the CCS plug into this adapter, and then plug the adapter into your car as usual. It includes a nice storage bag so you can toss it in your trunk when not in use. My car is a 2022 Model 3 Performance with CCS enabled. Make sure you verify that your car has CCS enabled before buying this adapter. You can view the CCS status from the screen in your car under Software and Additional Information. I tested this adapter at two different Electrify America charging locations. At each location I also charged with the official Tesla CCS adapter, and at both locations my charging speeds were the same whether I was using this adapter or the official one. Note that I could not get anywhere near the highest speeds that the chargers are capable of using either adapter, so that part is likely a function of the car not pre-conditioning the battery on the way to non-Tesla chargers the way it does when you navigate to a Supercharger station. Since this is just slightly less expensive than the official Tesla one you may want to just go with the Tesla one to ensure no issues down the road… but if you want to get CCS charging at a discount then this one will work just as well from my experience. Got this adaptor as a backup. I don't really plan to use the CCS1 charging location often. But it is nice to keep in in the trunk, just incase I ever needed one when I am on the road. The built quality on this adaptor is very solid, very high quality. Feel very much like the OEM adaptor. I haven't got a chance to use it yet.
