I love each (total of 3 now ʘ‿ʘ ) of my Staubs! This one does not disappoint. Zwilling lists the braiser as: Net weight: 7.72 lbs Capacity: 3.59 qt Length of product: 15.28 in Width of product: 11.81 in Height of product: 5.31 in Bottom thickness: 0.17 in Upper diameter: 11.81 in By Zwilling USA MANUFACTURER Also, the braiser is approximately 2 inches deep and the actual cooking surface (bottom) is approximately 10 inches. This is not a light-weight pot, so if you have issues picking up items with some weight, I suggest find one in the store to be sure you can lift it (remember you'll be filling it with food ｡-́‿-̀｡ ) The Cherry Red color isn't a bright red (more of a burnt cherry red), but still a beautiful color! I leave mine sitting on my stovetop it is so pretty! The glass lid fits tight (no steam escaped where the lid sits on the braiser sides) ... which makes the lid work great when you are steaming and *not* supposed to lift the lid. When the lid is lifted (hold it over the pan for the water to fall in), the lid immediately clears and is easy to see through once placed back on the pot. The knob does get hot so don't use your fingers to try and lift the lid while cooking. I did season mine (mixed thoughts from everyone on this step) and immediately cooked a chicken and rice dish. The chicken was tender and had a nice, even crisp skin. I normally cook rice in the Instant Pot (you can't beat Instant Pot rice!), but this pan did a great job. Cleanup was a breeze--I simply wiped it and was ready to cook my veggies. After cooking the meal, I let the pot cool and washed with Dawn, water, and a soft towel and the pan cleaned up beautiful! The lid can "probably" go in the dishwasher (IF I ever did, I would remove the knob), but I ***never*** would put the actual pot in there (so I handwash both). I have also fried eggs (adding oil to the pan) in it and the braiser did a great job! Looking forward to Fall and cool weather meals!! Thank you Staub!! I use this ALL the time. It takes high heat and cleans up very easily- extremely durable against scratches (although I tend to it with care because I love it). Great capacity for searing, braising, baking, casseroles or family meals etc. I can’t say enough great things about it. It is one of my favorite things to cook in. I hesitated a bit with the price, but it has become SUCH a staple in my kitchen- I consider it a worthy investment and must have. Awesome! ... show more

The glass lid is beautiful. The red color is beautiful. The black interior is beautiful. The chipped black surface forced me to immediately return it to Amazon. If the black surface is so weak that it cannot be transported from the factory to my house, then how will it stand up to daily use in a kitchen under high heat? This is a serious failure of both QUALITY CONTROL AND MANUFACTURING ENGINEERING to create a strong surface that's resistance to wear issues: ESPECIALLY CHIPPING! I am so angry at Staub for their lack of quality control that I will never order their product without risking a loss of my investment. Only from customer complaints, will any change be possible. If transportation damage is the cause, I don't know, then Staub needs a more robust shipping container. If the material coating is the flaw, then Staub needs to revise the manufacturing process. How unfair is it for the customer to receive a product that should last a lifetime, but it is damaged inside of the box. This is UNACCEPTABLE! Buy it if you wish to take your chances. ... show more

First meal: Scallops.. came out perfect. Browned evenly, and the entire pound was done at the same time. I loved the even heat distribution. I will be using this pan for many things. It was very easy to clean. I selected the matte black, to make sure it doesn't show stains on the bottom, but I will opt for a "happy" color on my next purchase. Black is probably practical, but, well, it's just black... lol. Of course, color has nothing to do with how well it functions. Overall, I love this pan, and can't wait to cook dinner in it tonight ... show more
