They say you save thousands but It stop working after 1.5 years. I just lost $375. They want $175 for repair. This company's been around for a while now, but they still can't produce a gadget that lasts a while. Either that or they don't care because they know they use the cheapest components.

Given that it will likely take some time before being able to have a permanent EV charger installed at my house, I needed a practical Level 2 charging solution for the interim. This was definitely it! The product arrived quickly and was completely as described. The SplitVolt Splitter Switch has been amazing, allowing me to keep my dryer plugged in while allowing me to plug in my EV charging cord in on occasion. I also like the built in breaker function which gives me a bit of piece of mind from a safety standpoint. Even if/when I get a permanent EV charging unit installed at my home, I like having this as a backup option. This was a great solution!

Product for use for the EV charge is great, but it is better to buy it directly from the manufacturer. They don’t guarantee the warranty from Amazon, but they have a great service department. I would buy it directly from them and get the extended warranty.

This is one of the most expensive, highest-rated EV/dryer switches available. It worked for about three hours, then started making a loud buzzing noise, clicking, and flashing lights. The display showed zero current. I'm returning it for a replacement. Hopefully the new one will last longer.

So far, so good. I've tested it 4 or 5 times and it switches just as advertised from the EV charger to the dryer when the dryer turns on. Makes me feel a lot safer using the dryer outlet to charge the car, especially with the built-in breaker (which I've tested by manually flipping the switch and that also works perfectly). It's big and heavy and seems to be made with high-quality materials. I mounted it on a side wall above head height, making it a little tough to see the display, so I recommend mounting it at eye-level so you can view the read-out, although it's not really necessary. I'm very happy with this product!

I'll be honest - I was nervous about making this purchase. While I don't want to spend $2000+ running wiring from our electrical panel (opposite of the house) to our garage to charge our Tesla, I also don't want our house to burn down due to using a bad product. This has worked great so far. Switches perfectly between the dryer and the car. It gets warm, but not at all hot. I would expect some heat due to the power running through it, so it's all within expected ranges. I'm a fan, recommending it to a few friends.

If you have a modern dryer out let in your garage, the SplitVolt splitter switch is an inexpensive way to get a Level 2 charger for your EV in the time it takes to buy one and plug it in. If your dryer outlet is an older three-prong outlet, it's inexpensive to have an electrician change it to a 4 prong grounded outlet safe to use with EVs. The 24 amps the SplitVolt switch provides via the dryer outlet is more than sufficient to charge an EV battery overnight. The automatic switching from EV to dryer and back works perfectly whenever the dryer is in use. Use the switch with a SplitVolt Level 2 portable charger with a 4 prong plug and it's all you need. Much cheaper than buying an EV wall charger and paying an electrician to wire it to your home's electrical panel. One thing I worry about: the switch's LED status lights remain on all the time, so it's an open question for me whether that will cause them to fail prematurely.

I am 8 months in on this unit; with about two uses a week for EV charging, and the screen already has dead parts of the display. While the functionality of it works great, it makes me concerned on how long the rest will last if it’s already starting to have failures on the display. But like I said functionality of the main switching part has been flawless so far.
