What is the maximum safe EV charging rate for a standard 30 Amp household dryer circuit? The National Electric Code requires a 20% buffer for EV charging, so a standard 220/240 Volt, 30 Amp circuit may charge at UP TO 24 Amps MAXIMUM. So you must use a 24 Amp charger, or an adjustable charger set to 24 Amps or lower.
