I was skeptical about buying this, but I had tried burning pellets in the past so thought I’d give it a try. First time using it I filled the chamber to just below the upper holes. This was not ideal and needed a lot of tending. Now, I put in about 5-10lbs to start and feed it when it’s very hot. Works much better and keeps a stronger flame and re-burn. Almost no leftover unburned pellets this way. Great for camping since bundles at the state park are $8. A 40lb bag from the farm fleet store is $5. Lasts 2-3 hours with big flames or longer if you like a gentler flame. ... show more

Smooth fire and HOT! Probably the best way I’ve found to use the solo stove. I was using pressed sawdust bricks from Tractor S but pellets are half the price and burn way hotter and are a consistent burn as opposed to putting in bricks every 15 min.

The Solo stove may be the best firepit for camping, backyard, block party or whatever. However the pellet adapter is another great addition. The ability to throw a few backs of pellets in the truck to take camping and saving the space on the bed is great. Fit my DuraFlame 19” stove perfectly. This is a sturdy item and should hold up well when burning wood pellets. Easy to install and remove for cleaning. Very happy we ran across this item and expect to use our firepit much more often now we can use wood pellets.

We ordered the pellet adapter for our Bonfire 1.0 because we wanted to be able to time and control our fire. My brother had purchased one and raved, so we figured we would give it a try. It was easy to simply set into the pit itself and then we used pellets purchased from Sam’s Club that can also be used for our Traeger. They are food safe, which is great as the kids wanted to make s’mores. We filled the Bonfire a little less than half full, added some little fire starters and lit those. The fire started quickly and burned for a little over an hour. It was easy to add some pellets on top of the embers and we added a little more fire. Once those had burned down and there was no more flame, we let it sit for a few minutes and popped the lid on before heading inside. We will be using the Solo again this weekend and I can already tell that we will get far more use of our Solo Stove this year than last. ... show more
