The day I received the DIHOOM lock, I immediately installed it. As someone who's not very good with instructions, the lock was relatively simple to place on the door. Just make sure you have your basic tools on hand so that you'll be able to complete the task. Once I set my code and everything else, I tested it and voila! We were all set. I would say, it took about 30-45 minutes from beginning to end to install everything. I'm sure if you're good with tools and general installations around the home, it'll take you roughly 20 minutes or so. I've had the lock for about a week now and no problems at all! ... show more

This was easy to install. Took about an hour for me as I’ve never replaced a lock before. The instructions were straight forward. The lock is battery operated and comes with a set of keys.     • A pain to install, but a good lock
This lock proved very difficult for me to install myself, but that may be more a reflection of my poor handyman skills than it is of the lock itself. As for it not being a smart lock, that is absolutely correct. However, this was actually something I was looking for. I don't want a lock to my house that can be hacked by someone with the right computer know-how. This lock can still be bypassed by someone with the right skills, mind you; there is no lock out there that can't be. But I don't want to worry about my lock being available for a nearby hacker to link to. The fingerprint option is good, but not as reliable as the combination code. I like that I can provide the code to others as well; our front door opens to a small entryway with another door, so by putting locks on both doors we can provide the combination to just the outside door to delivery drivers, so that they can leave packages inside the entryway where they are safe, yet we can still keep our home protected. We can also provide the combination to guests or neighbors if we need to have them check on something while we are away. It is easy to change the combination any time you like. I also appreciate that this lock doesn't look like a monolithic square; it's nicer looking than most. Our home is a vintage house, and large blocky locks look ugly on it. While this one is still obviously modern, it at least has some curves to make it look less blocky. ... show more

I was excited to get this lock, as I like being able to control and check all aspects of my home from anywhere I am. So, when I saw this "Smart" lock, I decided to get it. Well, it's actually dumb. The heading on this lock is very misleading, I mean, the first words are "Smart Lock", which it is not. A smart device is any device that connects to and communicates with another smart device. This lock does not do that, nor is it an option. The installation of it was fairly straight forward. The only issues I really has having to make the hole larger and having to drill another hole for the outside part of the lock. Other than that, it went easy. Programming isn’t too overly difficult, and it does allow only 4-digit pass codes, where others will not allow fewer the 6 or 8. It does have an auto lock feature, which allows you to program in a set amount of time before the door locks itself. I have yet to figure out how to make it lock using the keypad on the outside, as that is not described in the directions. In the end, I felt this lock being misrepresented, in my opinion, plus the somewhat poor installation directions, brings this down. I would give it a 3 star because I feel it is misleading, but that wouldn’t be a fair assessment of the lock itself. So because the lock does work and functions, and does most of what it is advertised as being able to do, I give it a 4. ... show more

    • Finally got this installed and it is working!
My first time installing an electronic deadbolt. I had to drill a hole in the door for the securing plate, and that was simple, but doors are expensive and I sure was hoping all would work correctly! Installation was easy and I got it all set-up. I had some issues getting it to work properly, so I had to take it back apart. I didn’t have the wires plugged in securely, and that was causing the keypad not to beep or light up. Simple fix, and now it is programmed and working as it should.
