This worked perfectly. My family of 4 went to Mexico for Spring Break. We stayed at a very safe resort, but having this helped me sleep better at night. We ended up with a suite and the kids bedroom was right by the front door. Our room was upstairs. If you watch the videos, this is easy to install and remove. In our case, the floor was tile and the door was wood, and I was able to get a very secure block on the door each night without too much effort. I’m sure it would work as well on carpet floors. It’s small enough to throw in the bottom of the suitcase (we checked, so not sure how this would go through security- it’s solid metal and strange-looking). It's small, yet beefy - it was able to visibly lift the door in its frame as I tightened the screw. I can only imagine what the XL version of this thing might do! It's easy to install and has spacers available for use if the gap between the door and jamb is too large. I didn't do a kick test - the hotels I stayed in probably would've protested, and the vendor's website has some convincing videos posted. To insure against someone else doing that I paired this with one of the two other styles of lock from other vendors. This is the only one I was able to use for doors between adjacent rooms. All three - this one, B0B8MP69KX, and B0BJJV6H5R - weigh about two pounds together. They might be an easy and useful addition to your 'travel kit' whenever a hotel stay is on the itinerary. I think it's a good idea to have something else as a backup for a different reason - this (and both options I used) doesn't work with all doors, but I was able to use at least two everywhere I went. Out l of the three, this was the most versatile: there was only one location on our recent 18-day road trip where I couldn't use this - there was NO gap under the door. ... show more

The efficacy determines the circumstances! This would not work on my front door bc there is a 2 inch ledge that this could not fit. However, it works great on my back door. You have to position it correctly and twist the lock all the way down to where it's tight. It does work very well - I could not open the door without it being compromised. However, we use this door somewhat often and it's a pain to constantly untwist and reposition when we leave and at night. That's something to keep in mind. In my experience, it's best for traveling (knowing it won't work in every circumstance) and for doors that you don't frequently go through. This is piece basically save my life.. important to leant how to use correctly. DO Not over tighten as you can warp the bolt very easy, and it will begin to slide. Always use with door jammer included for best results. If device begins to fail take it as a sign a intruder has attempted to power thru it. Replace it immediately to keep your security. I recommend this product to any one traveling or need non- electronic or Wi-Fi dependent security 100%. Check it after every use and replace if you see wear or warping. Metal is strong and ingenious design.. the only improvement I recommended is to make a lift cap that cover the entire bottom. It's the only flaw in the feature if the is a visible gap under the door or over replacements. ... show more

I don't know how this has the good reviews it has. I installed it, even with the extra gripping piece and I was easily able to push a door open. The stopper just slid right over the top of the carpet. Total junk!

Much better device for securing interior door for peace of mind. Also, purchased the cloth & velcro 'super grip lock,' which was a rip-off for $10 ! The 'Door Jammer' has worked well on two different locations so far while travelling. I must admit though; the $25 and change for this is vastly overpriced. They package it nicely which contributed to the cost. Not necessary. They advertise Designed in UK & USA... but MADE IN CHINA ! When will we learn to bring jobs home?? ... show more

I've used this product for about a year now because I travel a lot and stay in AirBNBs. This product has provided a secure way to keep the door to my room secure. It takes about 30 seconds to get into place and it's very sturdy. Made of heavy metal, not lightweight, and does the job.
