  • Extremely Reliable, Well Built and Perfect for Controlled Access
Color: Matte Black Size: 1 Pack
I own five of these WYZE Auto-Lock Bolts throughout our condominium, where we use them to restrict and allow access as needed. They have been extremely reliable and have worked very well for this purpose. The lock feels solid, well built and secure. The fingerprint reader is convenient, the keypad is easy to use, and the overall design is simple without looking cheap. I recently upgraded the lock at my own home to WYZE's newer palm recognition version. The only reason was that, for roughly $50 more, I felt the newer model offered enough additional convenience and technology to justify the upgrade. That does not take anything away from this model. If you are simply looking for a strong, dependable and well engineered smart deadbolt without paying for features you may not need, I would absolutely recommend this one. I have used WYZE products for many years and the brand has never let me down. Their products are affordable, innovative and, most importantly, extremely reliable. ... show more

  • Great in nearly every way.
Color: Matte Black Size: 1 Pack
I really really wish this had Wi-Fi so I could check my lock status and lock/unlock remotely. But other than that this thing is great. It was extremely easy to install. As easy as any deadbolt. Setup was very easy. The app is great, the fingerprint reader is great, the keypad is great, it functions fast and smooth with the keypad, fingerprint, and Bluetooth app. The lock/unlock log with users is great.. sensing someone a one time use pass code works flawlessly.. Connecting is very fast. By the time I walk up to my door my phone is already connected to it and all I have to do is click the unlock button and it will unlock immediately. Which worked great the one time I got home from work and my hands were so dirty that the fingerprint reader wouldn't work and I forgot the pin. LOL. I like that there is a variety of ways to unlock it. I've used them all and I love them all. The main way that I enter my home now is through fingerprint. No more taking keys out of my pocket while my arms are full and digging around trying to find a key or remembering what password I sent the PIN code to. And not even having to take my phone out of my pocket to use the app if I don't want to. I just walk up to the door, touch the fingerprint reader, it unlocks and I go inside. Perfect. ... show more

  • Good value
Color: Satin Nickel Size: 1 Pack
I looked at a bunch of smart locks, chose WYZE due to reviews & the fact I have been happy with 3 cameras & a smart outlet from them. The lock was simple to install, took me about 25 minutes, but I have arthritis in my hands. The lighter color was a very close match for our existing hardware, which is a plus. You can lock by simply hitting the lock key on the pad. Unlocking is done with the fingerprint sensor or the keypad using whatever code you choose. The sensor doesn't work for me, but I think it's because of a skin issue I have. It works 100% correctly for my wife. Using the keypad is easy, it lights up in the dark, which is a plus. It's so nice not having to carry a bunch of keys & fiddle with them while holding bags or whatever, trying to unlock the door. I only wish I'd gone to one of these years ago. It takes AA batteries & the app tells you when they're getting low. The keypad will also glow red to let you know. They're on the inside so you don't have to open the door to change them. So far, we're getting about 6 weeks between battery changes, which could be better, but I can live with that. The app is fine. Takes about 6 seconds to connect to the lock & lets you lock/unlock & also keeps a log of each time the lock is opened or closed & by whom. Let's you update firmware & has a manual that's easy to access & use, though I haven't needed it but the one time. There are locks you can pay more for that may have more bells & whistles, but this one is a good value based on features, reliability (so far) & price, in my opinion. Recommended. ... show more

  • Good, but loud!
Color: Matte Black Size: 1 Pack
3 month update: I've had no problem with it so far. Sometimes the fingerprint scanner will fail to read the first time, fairly common for any fingerprint scanner though if your fingers aren't pristine, but has never failed so many times that I had to use my code except one and that was when my hands were dirty and sweaty from yardwork. I'll also say that the batteries were at about 65%, so the 1% battery life per day figure stands pretty well. I will also say that I just installed some lithium batteries today and it is much snappier but also a bit louder, so I'd suggest to just using regular alkaline AAs, no need to splurge. --- Original review: Overall this is a great lock. The illuminated keypad stands out nicely in the dark, the fingerprint scanner generally works the first time assuming my fingers aren't dirty, and installation and initial setup only took about 20 minutes. The biggest things against this lock are the fact that it takes 4-AA batteries instead of a lithium ion battery pack, and it is quite loud. The first isn't a big deal, mine uses about 0.5-1% battery life per day from the included Duracell batteries, but having a removable rechargeable battery pack would be more pocket and environmentally friendly. The second thing, the noise level, could make it an issue to some people if it's used at night. I'd put the level about like a battery powered screwdriver, not overwhelmingly loud but if the rest of the house is quiet it does stand out. Other than those two cons it's a great lock for a shop or frequently entered door. It's not Wi-Fi so you can't remotely unlock it or give someone a one time code, though you can setup a visitor profile and change it manually, but it's also one of the most affordable fingerprint locks on the market from a trusted brand. ... show more

  • WOW! What a LOCK.
Color: Matte Black Size: 1 Pack
Wyze has really made a great product. This lock really makes it easy to go in and out of your house. It is NON-HACKABLE since it only used Bluetooth and no WIFI. The only problem with that is that the Bluetooth does not have a very long range (about 25ft to 35ft). But I only use the remote feature when I come home and it's raining and I want the door open when I get there. The best feature is the fingerprint reader. If you get one, I suggest you set it up for at least two (2) fingerprints (one right hand and one left hand) for each person. This way when you are carrying something you can use either hand to open the door. I also use an 8 digit code as a backup. Many other similar locks only allow 4 digits. The single onetime code is a nice feature if you need to allow someone else to enter your home. CONS- Sometime, but not often, the lock will seize up. I have had it to not to accept a remote open from my cellphone. And one time the fingerprint reader locked up. NO PROBLEM! If the fingerprint reader hangs up just open it with your code number (and then you probably need to change the batteries). If the "Bluetooth Opening" from you cell phone messes up then there are two possible fixes. 1. Reboot your cellphone. 2. Remove one of the batteries (see picture) from the inside of the door controller and reinstall it. So far, this has fixed the problem every time. These issues are don't happen often, and since I have had my lock for a year or two, these are very minor. The batteries last for several months, and I would say that you will use about two (2) sets of batteries per year. This is very good considering the convenience this lock provides. The auto-relock feature is a favorite of mine. This comes with several choices for the time span you can set. I use 5 minute now since my old lock was only 15 seconds. I have recommended this product to several of my friends. ... show more

  • This Wyze Deadbolt Was a Game Changer!
Color: Matte Black Size: 1 Pack
My Wyze auto deadbolt was installed about a year and a half before this review. This the experience I have had with it. The installation instructions are very easy to follow and understand. I have installed deadbolts in the past and this was easy. The app that connects via Bluetooth works well, and the features is offers are very useful . Set my family up in the app and we were off and running. Here are some pros and cons I have. Pros Durability of the lock has been amazing. It gets used about 5-10 times a day, and never had a problem where we couldn't get in our house. The lock is very strong and secure. Battery life is very good. You can check battery life in the app. After about 6 months of use the battery only went down 30%. I didn't know if this was calculated percentage by usage or actual battery life, so I changed the batteries and it went back to 100% after about a day. The fingerprint key-less entry is so nice, but with the fingerprint sensor like on the lock and on other devices. If your finger is wet or something has blocked or changed your fingerprint, it will not work. I just use the keypad when this happens. There are some nice features in the app. My favorites are you can set the deadbolt to auto lock after a set time. This is nice when your forgetful like we are. You can add users with just a code to get access, like a contractor or something like that. One feature saved us while we were on vacation. Our neighbor need to get into our house and check something after a bad storm. The app offers a one time use code that will unlock the deadbolt. The app does need to be connected to the internet to access this feature. Overall, this deadbolt from Waze was a game changer for us. Its nice not having to carry keys for the house anymore. Note: If there is any resistance on your current deadbolt when you unlock it. You will have to adjust your striker plate for this deadbolt to work properly. Wyze does offer support with this concern that is in the instruction. ... show more

  • bluetooth problem fixed- see edit
Color: Matte Black Size: 1 Pack
What I mean about the Bluetooth is this- and it's just a hunch- but I think it might explain the hiccups I had: After installing this as a replacement in a door that already had a deadbolt , the bolt lock worked perfectly for a day or so, until I decided to get fancy and put my 5 year old Galaxy Tablet into the mix. As soon as I tried to use the tablet to control the lock, the Bluetooth connection became intermittent at best and then quit working entirely. I could still get in with the fingerprints and code I had put in, but with no Bluetooth connection I could no longer communicate with the lock. I deleted the app from the tablet and then started over from scratch with the lock. This meant that I had to reenter the code and fingerprints. I decided that trying to control the lock from an ancient Samsung tablet with no data connection and outdated Bluetooth isn't such a great idea. I really like this lock so far. And for me, the possibility of getting locked out of my garage because the lock has no mechanical key is nothing to worry about when compared to the very real possibilty that using a deadbolt with a mechanical backup key would expose me to some dweeb (with a bump key he got off eBay ) who could easily, quickly and quietly get into my garage undetected and with virtually no effort. (I have a separate keypad for my door opener which also has a battery backup) . As for my house, having another one of these dead bolts on a second door would likely end any rational fears about getting locked out and would provide more assurance against keybumpers and lock pickers. I just saw that they have a brushed nickel version, so one of those is soon going to be on the front door. I was able to solve the Bluetooth problems I was having with this lock by going to the gear icon on my Android phone's home screen, finding settings/system/advanced/Bluetooth options. Then resetting Bluetooth. Like magic, my connection to the WYZE Lock started working again and I didn't have to mess with the lock. Edit- my problems with the Bluetooth are cured. It was operator error, I think. I started minimizing the app on my phone, then swiping it away- every time I check it. No more minimizing the window and then forgetting about it . That practice must have been source of my initial Bluetooth connectivity problem. It would have been great if that had been mentioned somewhere as being a potential problem instead of finding it out on my own. As far as using the old tablet to control the lock, I decided that that could also have causedthe problem of leaving the Bluetooth "on", so I'm not going to use the old Galaxy Tablet anymore. ... show more
