Update - 08/17/24 Well, after a week long interaction via email and after much troubleshooting, Eufy customer support came through with flying colors and after telling me on 08/15 they will replace the lock, they did! Just got it and the lock works great! Very happy with Eufy! I changed my rating from two stars to five and they earned it! I say buy it if you want it. And I will be buying their other product like the solar camera. Do buy the extended warranty if available. So, this is my second Eufy Smart Lock, the first is the Smart Lock S230 and so far it works. I installed S230 just a week ago from this review and I'm happy with it. However, NOT happy with the C33. The installation was very easy as it fitted right into the door where old Z-WAVE lock was installed. No modifications. The app setup, like S230, was very easy and very quick. Now the not so happy part, the keypad does not work. It will not light up. It will not accept the PIN. The fingerprint on the handle works. But, if I or my family and guest cannot enter their PIN it's just useless. I've opened a service ticket and I'm hoping they can tell me how to fix it and I'm going to give them 72 hours from today. Otherwise, I'm returning it to Amazon. And likely I won't be buy the cameras or door bell. I'll update this review by this weekend.

Easy to install. The handle really makes it easier to open. It works better on the the deadbolt slot or if you have a single door knob. It’s just wonderful you can open or lock it with your phone from anywhere. You also get a notification when your kids get home from school. Which is great for me.No more lost keys. I really haven’t tried the fingerprint feature .

The fingerprint sensor is located on the handle, which is a decent and commonly seen design for fingerprint handle locks. However, Eufy's fingerprint module is positioned very deep, rather than being slightly raised. This forces me to press my finger quite hard every time to get it recognized. In daily use, more than half of the time, it fails to recognize my fingerprint on the first attempt, requiring multiple hard presses to succeed. This is a very poor design. Alright, I decided to register fingerprints of my fingertips, thinking it might make recognition easier. But here's the deal-breaker: this product is always offline. When the Wi-Fi is offline, I can't even add new fingerprints. I have three Deco mesh routers at home and many smart home devices and cameras connected to my Wi-Fi network, all of which are very stable. Yet, Eufy's smart lock frequently disconnects. I can't tolerate this and have already initiated the return process. I will never buy a Eufy smart lock again.

This lock could not be more convenient. The fingerprint reader works well and is positioned perfectly so you naturally place your thumb on the reader. It has a great feature where you can have it stay open for a given amount of time after unlocked, even when opening from the inside. I use this in my garage as an extra level of security for when my garage door is open. I have it set for 10 minutes and that’s perfect for 95% of my use cases when I go in and out to get things. Great product. My only request would be to update the app to give different notification options for different users. I don’t need to be notified when I use it but I’d like to know when my nonresident users are accessing my door.

These work great! Being a machinist and mechanic I was impressed with the quality of the inner workings. Especially for the price. Installation was fairly straight forward. If you have ever replaced a lockset it will be easy. If not, watch some youtube videos. Installation is well within the means of the average or aspiring DIYer. The app is great with plenty of useful features and provides quick phone notification any time the door is locked or unlocked. I would have give 5 stars if not for 1 issue. Once temperature drops to 0 degrees F, the lock no longer functions. It will read and accept your fingerprint or pass code, but the mechanical mechanism does not unlock the door. The manual key still works fine so I would suggest having the key hidden outside somewhere as a backup. Also...the batteries were not 100% new when this was noted, but still showed 90% capacity when tested. I believe it is just a function of the product. I have two of them and the impact of the cold weather was the same for both. Once temperature rose above 5 degrees they both functioned properly.
