Very easy to install and set up was a breeze through the Eufy security app. Added bonus of this being in the Eufy ecosystem made it so all security devices can be monitored in one place. What makes this very unique is that it replaces the doorknob so you do not need a deadbolt to have a smart lock. We were able to install this in our garage door leading to the house which normally doesn't have a deadbolt so this fit our need perfectly. Lastly, being able to open with a fingerprint makes it so we don't need keys to enter the house from garage. Plus the lever handle is easier than a doorknob. Excellent buy.     • I have 9 of these unfortunately.
I operate Sober Living houses where each bedroom door and exterior door has its own lock. I’ve purchased 9 eufy locks total. 3 of those were replacement locks for ones that went out. But I was already stuck in the Eufy sphere, so was hoping I just had a bad batch from my first order. Now, half the locks don’t work in some form or function. The biggest issue being that they won’t connect to the app any more. Even with full resets. So in the beginning they worked great. But over the course of several months, they don’t. So now I’m going to have to completely re-invest in something else vs continuing to throw money at these. ... show more

I’ve been looking for a handle lock like this, and I have a lot of Eufy products that I think work very well. I was looking to replace the Schlage combination handles I’ve had for so long that worked so well, but all of my kids friends know the codes to get into my house. Not that they would use them, but if they shared them, I didn’t feel comfortable and it wasn’t easy to change codes every time that I felt compromised. I was looking for a new handle combination that included fingerprint recognition, and quick code changing options along with temporary codes that would work only once or within a certain time frame and this lock clicked all of the boxes. I have an older home and a dead lock wouldn’t work because the door jams are warped and didn’t always line up correctly for unobstructed engagement unless the door was shut with the same force every time. Anyways, my first concern was with the lack of instructions for door assembly, it took a while for me to look at everything that was delivered for installation and figure out what was needed and what was extra. It’s not hard to install, but they sent extra screws and in my past if you have extra, you missed something. After installation, the app recognized the lock and began showing me the installation process, which I had already completed. You can choose a long code or a short code to unlock the door, 1 digit up to I think 10. Programming the fingerprint is a lot like the old fingerprint programming for iPhones, about 8 different scans, at different angles. New users are easy to set up, and code changes are easy. I’ve used this lock for about a week, fingerprint recognition was a little weak in the beginning but the last three days has been perfect. It learned. It also shows a log of who came in, if they used their code or by fingerprint. My only complaint is there isn’t a way to unlock it for an extended period of time, like if you have guests over for parties or something like that where guests wouldn’t be normally granted access to your home. You can delay the lock, but you can’t unlock it until relock it manually. Eufy, please add this option in future software releases as an option to unlock it, even if it’s for a specific time period. Otherwise, for people in my immediate family, we really like the finger print access this grants, it’s quicker than a code. One note, keep your fingers dry, it doesn’t like wet fingers. ... show more

I purchased this smart door lock, and I must say it has been a game-changer. The ease of use is remarkable, completely eliminating the need to carry keys around.     • Lots to like, few things to improve
The convenience of having a fingerprint entry handle is great for a high use exterior door. Generally works first time no issue and reader falls to hand easily. It is also a "geared" handle so a quarter turn will open the door, a really handy feature that is helpful when carrying in items. It is holding up to repeated daily use very well. However, with wet hands, and sometimes cold, fingerprints will not read at all or takes several tries, which can be annoying. But for cold weather the pad works and registers with most gloves, so no need to take off gloves in the cold. Battery life is not 12 months, but that may be a product of high use in the location we placed it. That coupled with using 8 AA disposable batteries is a bit of a drag. Would be nice for future version to come with battery pack (but that means it is out of commission while charging so I understand the 8AA route). Overall, would recommend versus competition. Looks like a normal handle more than it's competitors and fit and finish is great. ... show more

    • It’s a shame….
I have to start off by saying I really like this lock. The lock it great, it works well, is easy to install and use, and integrates into the app well. I also have a s340 camera which is great so far. The build quality of everything is clean and solid. However: I do have some gripes about the functionality of the lock before I get to my main issues: The battery life is not good. With regular AA’s (it uses 8), I would get maybe 3-4 weeks. I ended up switching to rechargeable AA’s and would get maybe a week or two. I didn’t try buying Li AA’s, that might be worth a shot. But ultimately what I think would be a dramatic improvement would be for it to come with 2 battery packs that you could easily swap out. Loading 8 batteries into a vertical compartment with awkward springs gets annoying when you’re doing it every couple weeks. The lock has no way of being left disengaged/unlocked. Or at least I didn’t find a way to leave it unlocked so I can go in and out repetitively without having to unlock the knob electronically. The only way might be to leave the key in the top with it unlocked (The physical key comes in handy when the batteries die, found that out the hard way a couple times). Ultimately, my main issue is that the WiFi on my lock went bad and I am not unable to set it up after getting a new WiFi router. Even though I can connect to it using my Bluetooth, it is essentially a brick now. I contacted Eufy, and I will say that their customer service was helpful and responsive. Except when I comes to the warranty. Full disclaimer, I did buy a “used” unit from Amazon, but came essentially as an open box item. It looked like is had never been taken out of the packaging. When it came down to needing to replace the lock, I was told the warranty was only 3 months. I found that strange, so after looking, and it took some looking, I found the “warranty chart” hidden somewhere in their website. It said one year on the locks, I get mine was used, still think 3 months is a little short. They ended up offering to “apply some offers” on “new models”. When I asked what they would offer on a new replacement c33 lock, they told me $159.99….. which is perfect, because I can buy a new one on Amazon for $129……. So as of right now, I’ve put a pause on buying anything else Eufy. Like I said, I like the camera and was planning on expanding my system. But now I’m going to wait and see if I have an issue with that before I sink more money into a whole system. ... show more

    • Great lock minus the non rechargeable battery part.
The lock itself is great and works great and the installation was pretty straight forward. The issue is with the non rechargeable batteries. This thing eats through AA batteries in probably a month. It got to the point that I stopped replacing them and just started using the lock as a regular lock and not a smart lock. If it came with a rechargeable battery back it would have been a much better product. ... show more
