I typically would not do a review, but I just got locked on my balcony for two hours because I did not properly remove my security bar and it fell back down. I and two of my maintenance men had such a hard time getting this bar removed we almost had to break one of my apartment windows. It was not even properly locked in place and still would not open. Bought this for my daughter's apartment. We were looking for a way to add another layer of security to her front door. Her landlord would not allow us to make any modifications to the door (ie add an additional deadbolt) so we needed to find something that did not need to be "installed." This jam bar was the best we could come up with. Thankfully she never had a break in so it wasn't put to a true test. But we did have my husband try to push the door in while it was set and it seemed to hold. I think, as long as it was set properly, it would slow down an intruder and give you a few extra minutes to call for help.
