    • Great keyboard, and the battery lasts forever
I recently switched from Windows to a MacBook. My old keyboard was supposed to work on both, but I could never get it to connect and function right on the Mac. So I bought this one, made for Apple, and it's great. It's structurally sound, it functions really well, and the battery life is amazing. I've had it two or three months and have only charged it once in that whole time. Being able to map custom keys is a nice bonus and very handy. The one small thing I noticed: it still uses Apple's older charging connector rather than the current USB-C. That said, the charging cord comes in the box, so it's no problem.     • Expanded keyboard make typing easier
I love using this extended keyboard with the numbers on the right on their own. I had the other more compact one prior and it was annoying to have to press the shift key in order to type numbers. I updated to this one when my other one got too old and was no longer as responsive as it should be along with the mouse. Old hardware does have to replaced eventually but the other one lasted over ten years so I expect this one will as well. I always trust Apple products and find that, to me, they're worth paying a bit more for. I do primarily use Apple products exclusively and everything works very well together which is a good thing because I am not good at fixing technical issues. The other more compact keyboard is about twenty dollars less than this one but for that, I felt it was worth it for the ease of use of this one. Not sure what other keyboards generally cost, but bc I haven't needed to replace my old keyboard in so long, I felt the price was fine and probably a little less on Amazon than on the Apple site as I have found for other products as well. The keyboard was easy to pair with my computer and there have been zero issues and all the keys so far are responsive and feel great. I did not realize how nice typing on these keys would feel until I got this new one. You can charge the keyboard from your computer and they include a cord for that. Not sure how long the charge on the keyboard lasts per charge, but it can just be plgged in while you're using it to charge so it isn't an issue for me. ... show more

This keyboard pairs well with my MacBook Air (M2), holds a long charge and is able to wake it up while it is in clam shell mode. I am still not sure if I should have gone without the numeric pad as it would have given me more room for my mouse on my keyboard tray. I would just suggest considering if you really want to sacrifice that real estate. ... show more

    • Love this keyboard, don't love that I had to buy it
Personally, I need the full size keypad and arrow keys if I'm going to be working at a desktop computer. Overall this works beautifully with my M4 mini as expected, battery life and responsiveness are great, and I'm happy I upgraded to the wireless bluetooth keyboard from Apple instead of a third party. But, I want to make it clear that this purchase SHOULD NOT have been necessary. Do not read further if you are triggered by Apple's habit of suddenly eliminating compatibility for older technology (and sometimes their loyal customers). I have five (5) Apple OEM keyboards, 2 of which are recent A1243 models which work perfectly fine... except with the M4 Mini. Despite trying various adapters (including Apple OEM USBC->USB-A), and purchasing a hub with USB-A ports, the keyboard connection will drop constantly - especially after a reboot and/or OS update - when it is the most crippling. This is a documented issue specifically with Apple keyboards, and there is plenty of lively and not at all disparaging commentary online if you enjoy reading that sort of swill. I can confirm that all of my other USB-A devices work just fine (printer, scanner, hub, card reader, UPS backup, never had an issue) when connected via the hub or the adapters, it is only the connection to the Apple branded USB-A keyboard that is unreliable. Sometimes I can get it to work more reliably by using the front ports, but the connection always drops on reboot requiring 20 minutes of unplugging, replugging, and rebooting in an attempt to get the keyboard recognized again. The solution (coincidence?) is to upgrade, buy this "Magic Keyboard with Numeric Keypad," and fall in love with the new one instead... which is what I have done, and now I have 6 Apple keyboards ;) Buyers be advised: in their infinite wisdom Apple continues to manufacture this keyboard with a LIGHTNING port and so it ships with a USB-A to lightning cable. Rather hilariously dropping support for the USB-A where it is still most critical, while at the same time providing their customers with a completely useless legacy cable (and no brick). Instead, if you have an M4 mini, I recommend to ALSO purchase or own a USB-C to Lightning cable so that the keyboard can be connected and charged effectively. ... show more

This is just what a college student needed to easily use her iPad. Made of quality material as it has held up with many usage during this past year . It made it easier for her to write her essays as well her lab write ups. It connected easy and was very durable while it was placed in a backpack. Its size was perfect for portability.
