I have a 10-30 jack in my garage, so the most I can do is 24 amps output on an EV Level 2 Charger. My car came with a 16 amp. So I bought this one, which goes up to 32 max, along with a 14-50 to 10-30 adapter cord, and plugged it in. I set the output to 24 amps, and now my car chargers 50% faster. The only thing to know is this charger doesn't have an app or "smart features" but I don't care. My electricity isn't billed peak/nonpeak hours, so "scheduling" charging isn't gonna save me a nickel, and I think that's really the only marginally useful feature so-called "smart chargers" offer, to my knowledge. I'm very happy with this purchase. Long cord is convenient too. If it ever craps out I'm going to try to find the same one again. Comes with some handy hardware to mount it also. I just have it sitting on my tool bench, though. Thanks

My EV (2013 Nissan Leaf) has a 6kW+ charger, and this ShockFlo Level 2 works great. I installed a 14-50R receptacle in my garage with 40A breaker to power it, and it worked straight out of the box. I like the convenience of selecting the charging current at 240V from 10A up to 32A so I can select how slowly I'd like the car to charge. It also has a built-in delay timer so I can allow the car's battery to cool off after driving it before charging begins.

Charges well and the digital display is quite nice. Delivers a steady 32 amp/7.6kw. However, the ccs connector seems pretty flimsy and doesn’t make contact consistently on first insertion. That said, nice for the money as a secondary charger e.g. when traveling where a J1772 outlet will be available.

I purchased this in February and so far I love it, but based on bad reviews I’m scared one day it’ll stop working all together on me… I use it to trickle charge my Tesla at home and while traveling via nema 5-15 outlets (aka regular, non gfci 110, 10amp outlets). I plug my EV plug adapter (NOT RV rated!!!) into the outlet, connect this EV charger to my charger adapter (I THINK it’s the J1772) plug it into my car, tell my car I want to charge it at 10amps instead of 32, and that’s it. Sometimes I use a 10gauge extension cord plugged directly into the outlet, then connect the plug adapter to it. My favorite thing about this is when I finally install a 30amp plug in my garage I can use this same charger instead of having to buy a new one, since it has changeable amperage. Also I love how I can easily unplug this from my garage and go on road trips/ take it with me anywhere since it’s fairly small and easily fits in the frunk. Good luck!

Purchased this item and it started having issues after about 3-4 weeks. I contacted the manufacturer and they sent a replacement that started having issues within about 10 days. The vendor will now no longer respond to multiple emails and I'm stuck with a charger than doesn't work.

I have plugged this into a Volt and a Tesla. 50% of the time, the device does not connect. The Tesla actually gives a warning that the car is plugged in but not getting any electricity. You have to unplug and replug at least once before the device connects to he car. And, more than once, the device has disconnected overnight while it was charging. Also, with a Chevy Volt, many times the device tricks the car into charging instantly after you do the plug dance, even if the car is set to charge based on time or electric rate. The price was great, and when it works, it's great. But, unfortunately the quality control seems to be lacking.
