I can easily add 40 miles over night to my model 3. Might take a couple days to do a full charge but I dont think many people charging from home will be needing to do that on the regular. Also it hasnt been too bad as far as my power bill at my house goes so far.

    • Good choice for a simple charger
My stock Ford EVSE died so I replaced it with this one. Its nice and compact, super simple. I’ve been using it for a couple weeks for level 2 charging and there’s no heat or issues. I’m surprised it’s so cheap! Only shortcoming is the cable length, but that was known up front.

This has many nice features that makes this product so useful. It comes with the adaptor allowing this to plug into 120VAC or 240VAC outlets. It also comes with a nice slim form zippable carrying bag. The J1772 has an attached protective cover for when not in use (as shown in the included photos). We own a 2017 Chevy Bolt EV Premier that currently averages 3.8 miles per KWH during the winter. Therefore at 240VAC 16A, we charge at about 14.5 miles per hour, allowing us to easily charge to "Hill Top" level before next day's use. At this point, we have no need to get a 240VAC 38A L2 charger. I was a little apprehensive at purchasing this at first, due to some reporting a red light falsly indicating a bad ground. However, we have not experienced this except when a bad ground had existed, or a bad connection, specifically with a 240VAC outlet. We have never experienced any issues such as heating up with the cord, plugs, J1772 connector, or main logic board enclosure heating, not even when plugged in to 240VAC. ... show more

    • Great, simple charger! No adjustable current for level 1 charging, can easily overload 15A circuits
A great charger overall, I just needed something with adjustable current (which I thought this had.) I see many other ev chargers with the same specs and cost with adjustable current, so it would be nice if this had that too. Very simple to use, easy EV charger!
