  • It's Lidar, anti-wrap roller, and self-cleaning. No-go-zones need improvement.
It's the most important things you could want, at a bare minimum, from a robot vacuum: lidar navigation, anti-wrap anti-hair roller, and it self-empties into a bin, NOT a bag (thank you Shark!). The lidar nav is super important, and after having a iRobot Roomba S9+ and a Eufy before that, I will always require lidar on my robot vacuums. It cleans so much faster, maps faster, navigates better (but not fool-proof). I now own two of them, one for each floor of my house. These have no trouble cleaning up after our FOUR DOGS. I have to empty the bins every ~7 days as they're completely full with tightly packed dog hair. They've been working well for six months now, cleaning every single day. Unfortunately, the no-go-zones don't always work. I leave the door open for the dogs to go outside, so I have a BIG no-go-zone around that door. Seems the robot doesn't know where it is initially, and in the process of figuring it out, it crosses the no-go-zone and goes outside. Then, it tries to vacuum the grass, mud, etc, and then it either disconnects from WiFi or finally gets something stuck in its rollers. Major cleaning of the robot is required after that. EDIT about replacement parts: Yes, the Shark official replacement parts are super overpriced. Luckily, there are plenty of generic china filters that are super cheap, so you can replace any of the filters confidently with these. The brushes, however, are a different story. From what I've read, I'll never buy a generic china-manufactured brush for either the main or side brushes for this vacuum; all the generic brushes are garbage at this time. I ponied up ~$25/brush to Shark to order replacement main brushes, which you probably want to do every ~8-12 months if you vacuum once a day. The side brushes can get bent but you can straighten them in hot water. In late 2023, at least, Shark was still manufacturing the replacement brushes. ... show more

  • Instructions on how to start are not so good.
I got so frustrated with the starting instructions that I almost sent Harry2 back. I even called the company and could not understand the lady on the other end (strong accent). Then I meditated and it occurred to me that I needed to put Harry2 (my name for this 2nd robot vacuum) on the charger and let him totally juice up. After that he went through the startup commands and worked perfectly. He doesn't like popcorn and refuses to move furniture. Other than that, he's a keeper. ... show more

  • Poor suction and docking station doesn't work, trying to return
The device is really noisy and has poor suction, I watched it make three passes on a small pile hallway runner before it actually picked up a dust bunny that it passed over three times! I've only run it twice so far. It wasn't that difficult to pair with my phone, my biggest concern is that it is not performing as advertised. I've had to manually remove the dust bin from the Shark robot vacuum and empty it myself. You can see from the second photo, which shows an empty but dusty bin, whereas the dust bin on the docking unit, photo 3 is perfectly clean, WITH NO DUST AT ALL! The docking unit is supposed to suck out the dirt/dust from the vacuum for up to 60 days (what a joke!) It's not emptying the unit at all. It also doesn't pick up pet hair, and the lone beater bar brush is not self-cleaning. I've had to manually pull the hair off it it. Also when the device arrived there are two small brushes that have to be attached, but it doesn't provide a tool to do this. Luckily I have such a tool, but I doubt everybody else does. And I could not register it because the QR code on the backside the vacuum is covered over in marker. Truly unhappy with this purchase. Am being told I cannot return it for sanitary reasons? Seriously? Amazon allows the return of a hair scrunchy if its busted --- but you consider a vacuum that picks up dirt off the floor (well if this one worked as it should it would) to be unsanitary? Feels like I got ripped off!!! ... show more

  • This little guy works
I love this thing! My dog doesn't love it as much but she settles down after a few minutes. This little guy goes under the bed and comes out, surprisingly it has not gotten stuck anywhere except when it sucked up a dryer sheet that was on the floor. It picks up dog hair very well and the little side sweepers are key, they help to move things into the vacuum even along the baseboards. So far the self cleaning part has been awesome, you just empty the bin about once a month so you don't have to mess with the unit itself. I highly recommend! ... show more

  • Miss then hit
My wife loves this thing! We hardly ever need to pull out the regular vacuum anymore. It does get stuck at least a couple times a week if we’re not Around while it’s cleaning. It does do a little great job of cleaning most of the time. The renewed/refurbished title is kind of a joke in my opinion. The unit was missing a couple filters, and the beater brush was HEAVILY used. I bought a kit of all the replacement parts and did the refurbishing myself. We might buy a second unit for our second floor. Since I already have the rebuild kit it should work out. All-in-all for $200 (half off) I figure it’s worth it to keep my wife happy. Update- after about a month the first vacuum would leave the dock and get stuck about 2-3 feet later. We tried a number of things to resolve it but ended up returning it and buying another (seller didn’t offer exchange..?). This vacuum was in much better condition and so far is working much better than the first try. Planning on buying another for our second floor. ... show more
