I bought this chair and was very impressed with the material as I took it out of the box. However, this was the hardest chair to assemble that I ever had. The problem arose at the end of the process as the screws for the back just don’t want to line up. Eventually, with my wife leaning hard on the back, we managed to do it. I really wanted to like this chair as it looks like a high end executive office chair and the leather is nice and shiny with fancy stitching and in a beautiful shade of brown. Alas, I am returning it because the back of the chair is two inches shorter than I am used to. As a result, when I lean back to read, my head has no support as the back only reaches my shoulders. I am six feel tall but with short legs and a large torso. Also, because of my particular build, the top of the back seemed to push my shoulders forward when sitting upright, which becomes uncomfortable. The chair is very nice and appealing. The cushions are firm, but not too firm. I don't like a cushion that you sink down into and have them only get worse as time goes on. This is not as high back as I thought, but then again, I am at the office and can't be lounging around. The chair has good height settings. The entire seat does lean back & forth, not just the back itself which is not an issue as I am not going to be reclining during work. Adjustable tension on the lean back function is nice and I can adjust it so I have to put some effort into leaning back and just just winding back when I least expect it. Be very careful screwing the back rest to the side rails. Make sure you have the side rails really lose so you have room to work with and DO NOT STRIP THE THREADS while getting the screws started. ... show more

If you're tall don't buy this chair, there is another similar variant of this chair labeled "big & tall" for tall people (I'm 6'1"). If you're shorter, this chair should be pretty comfortable for you. The height issue is because of the padding at the top. Because of my height, it pushed my shoulders too far forward causing me to curl uncomfortably in the chair. ... show more

I loved this chair. I purchased it because Serta has a good reputation. I also purchased because I'm in school and I have large books that I put on a pillow when I'm doing homework. I also use an addition cushion and back support. This is why I wanted a big comfy chair. I weigh less than half of the 350 lbs it stated to support. I had the chair for over a year when a piece inside that attaches the left arm of the chair to the base sheared off. This was a manufacturing issue. The company that handles support issues for Serta got back to me immediately. The requested pictures and a receipt. They then sent me a chair that was nothing like the one I ordered, it does hold the same weight, but it must have been the cheapest one they had laying around and it was missing screws. I would buy another to replace because it was perfect. However, if they can't replace chairs that have severe manufacturing defects with equivalents, I will not do business with them. This chair is awesome. I just switched from ordinary cheap chair to this now that I'll work from home all the time. The cushion is amazing. So comfortable, firm but pillow like. It looks beautiful. The back is very comfortable as well to recline/stretch. The padded arms are great. The lift works well and stays at the height you set it! My only comment is my 11 yr old put this together for me. He got the arms backwards a few times and in setup it scratched easily and got a small rip on the side. It does seem to rip easily and scratch so be careful with that. ... show more

I bought this chair for my home desk, to replace a chair that has become increasingly uncomfortable over the years. I didn't know Serta made office chairs, but figured I'd take a chance on their reputation to see if it carries over to this type of furniture. Good call! The chair arrived nearly a week late, but it did arrive with the packaging in good condition. All parts were included & clearly identified. The assembly was seamless & probably took about 10 minutes. Every piece fit per assembly instructions & the finished product is both attractive & extremely comfortable. I am 6' 2", 245 lbs & the chair handles my dimensions admirably. I have been using it for about a month now & am very satisfied. I think this is an excellent investment & recommend it highly. ... show more

Horrendous noises after 2 month. Watched every YouTube video possible and ordered every replacement part I possibly could. Leaning back and forth produces noises that tell the whole house I just got comfortable. Comfy chair tho but would need to submerged in white lithium grease to solve the issue it looks like. I wanted to love this chair. It looks comfortable and luxurious. Not as bad to assemble as some report. But..as one already commented, it puts my back in a very awkward position and is uncomfortable. I found the reason why. The product dimension picture from Serta (this is not the fault of Amazon) has an incorrect back height dimension of 28.25". It is shown as a distance from the seat, as expected, but it is actually the overall length of the back. I contacted Serta and they confirmed their information is wrong. The dimension shown of 28.25 should be 24.25. Therefore, unless you are about 5' 4" or shorter, the neck/head rest pushes your shoulders forward and puts you in a very uncomfortable position. I am not tall by any means and not looking for a big a tall chair, just one I Would consider high back like my previous Serta. Unless you are less than 5'4" tall, I do not recommend this chair. It's a shame because it really is a nice chair overall. Then to add to the issue, it ended up being on sale during Prime Days. So I paid more for a chair I can't use. Not worth the time and effort to disassemble and repack for me, so trying to use it elsewhere. ... show more
