I LOVE THIS CHAIR!!!! For reference, I am 5'7' and a little on the chunkier side weighing 260. I work from home and sit at my desk at least 8 hours a day. I have been through 3 different chairs in about as many years and wish so much I found this one sooner!! I have neuropathy in my left thigh and my hips usually hurt pretty badly at the end of the day. I wanted a chair that didn't have arm rests that dug into my thighs and had a seat that came up to the back of knees. This chair meets both needs. It is a huge chair with lots of cushion and support in the seat and in the back. My feet do not touch the floor when I sit all the way back in it but I have a foot rest that is just perfect with this chair. My hips no longer hurt and I am able to work longer when needed. I highly highly recommend this chair!! It is worth the money and my husband was able to put it together in about 20 minutes. It's is extremely sturdy and rolls really well. Initial review after using for 2 days: This chair truly is BIG. I was looking for a chair that was a little wider than average (on my last chair, the arms dug into my thighs just enough to be uncomfortable) and had a nice high weight limit (a lot of chairs stop at 250 lbs and I needed higher than that) and this fit the bill. I also liked that it had a mesh back and seemed to have a good amount of padding. This chair is no joke BIG! It is wide, it is deep, and the arm rests are tall. I feel like a little kid sitting in it. It feels very sturdy and is very comfortable. For reference, I am 5'7" and I do feel like the seat is probably a little deeper than what is ideal for me (not the seller's fault - I didn't pay attention to the depth, just the width). It's not uncomfortable, but I find myself having to scootch back into it - and because the wheels are so luxuriously smooth, I also have to kind of brace the chair while doing so! Luckily, I am just in my home office, so no one sees me but the dog. The armrests are also just a little high for me as well, but again, not uncomfortably so. I'd rather deal with a chair that's a little too big than a little too small. But if you are taller, both these features are going to be great for you! The support on this chair is great so far. The seat is thickly cushioned but firm, the waterfall edge is comfortable, and the back support is great. The armrests are nicely padded and comfortable. The headrest is nice but I did end up removing it after trying it - I often wear my hair up in a clip so it hit against the headrest, but that is a personal thing. Otherwise, I think I would actually like it a lot. My husband put it together himself pretty easily. Note - the plastic screw cover for the headrest fits VERY snug-ly; if you think you might remove the headrest, do NOT put the plastic cover on. I've only had this chair a few days, but let me start out by saying that this is by far the easiest chair that I have ever assembled. I work in an office outside of the home and have for several years. So, I have put together many chairs throughout the years. I was able to assemble this chair, by myself, in less than 2 hours. That includes unboxing and reading directions, taking breaks and helping customers. The wheels are the rollerblading type that work great on carpet or hard flooring. Be careful though, it will run away from you if you aren't used to it. The padding on the seat is very thick and so far, it offers great support. Very roomy for my bum with plenty of room to spare. The arms are fantastic. They stay up when needed and aren't prone to falling down, but are easily placed in the position you prefer. the back is comfortable and the adjustable lumbar support is excellent. The twisting (pumping) mechanism for your desired tension is a little stiff however I'm sure this will loosen more with use. Overall, I give this chair 5 stars. ... show more

    • Real Big and Tall Chair, Worth the Money

This chair is 100% worth the money. You might look at the price and think it’s expensive, but trust me it’s not. I’m a real “big and tall” guy: 6’3”, 382 lbs, former college offensive lineman. I’ve owned chairs that cost over $500, and honestly, they don’t even come close to this one. Is it perfect? Nope. But if you’re actually big and tall and need a chair with a wide seat and backrest, this is the one. For reference, my jeans size is 48 and, yeah, I’ve got love handles and I still have plenty of room in this chair. The flip-up arms are an add bonus. Makes it super easy to pull the chair closer to your desk or table when you’re not using it. Like I said, I’ve spent more on chairs that don’t do that. And the measurements they list are real, which is rare. A lot of “big and tall” chairs on here have fake measurements, but this one’s legit. Now, the few drawbacks. First, I’m not sure how long the gas cylinder will last. A lot of these “big and tall” chairs brag about high weight limits, but that usually refers to the base, not the cylinder. What I do with every new chair is set it to my preferred height and install a cylinder ring lock, it helps a lot in the long run. Second, the lower lumbar support. Since it’s a mesh back, you can feel the plastic piece behind it. Easy fix though, just grab a small cushion and slide it between the mesh and the lumbar support piece. Problem solved. Other than that, this chair is absolutely worth buying. Super comfortable, wide, sturdy, and honest about what it offers. Hope this helps out my fellow big and tall folks! ... show more

I am 6'2" and about 385 lbs. Finding a chair that is comfortable AND will not break or give out in a year is a big deal for a big and tall fella. Compared to my last char (Hon Big & Tall Wave), it's much more comfortable seated in the new chair. And the armrests are very adjustable, but also they stick out and are much higher on the chair, so I can't get as close to my desk in the corner section as I used, to. It's making me sit upright more. Which is likely a good thing and not hunched over like my old chair. When I sit back fully in the chair, it's very comfy with the headrest and armrest pads. The armrests are very cushioned. And the seat cushion is soft, fully supporting my thigh up to my knee, but firm enough. Lower lumbar is effective. And I can flip the armrests all the way up to have no armrests in the way. For the money, I think it is a very good value. And seems well constructed with a metal base, and roller skate type wheels (which I would have put on if this chair didn't have them). We shall see how the durability lasts over time. My guess is that the armrest pads will get a lot of wear from contact. But again...for the money...it's a good value. ... show more

    • Buyer Beware: Design Flaw Ruins This Otherwise Fantastic Chair for Tall Users (Armrests)

Having researched extensively for the highest value, Amazon-available chair large enough for my 6'5" frame, I was incredibly optimistic about this purchase. In fact, the initial experience was outstanding, immediately becoming the best chair I've owned and revealing how poorly most chairs cater to taller individuals. The first day was a revelation and a genuine pleasure. Unfortunately, the very next day, the left armrest panel detached with minimal use. Examining it, I discovered the panel was held by four significantly undersized screws. While customer service was responsive in sending a replacement arm, the same left armrest panel popped off again within days. This repeated failure clearly indicates a fundamental design flaw in the armrest attachment, rather than a simple defect. Although I could repeatedly contact customer service for replacements, the underlying issue suggests broader compromises in the chair's construction, making me wary of future failures. I must acknowledge that this chair is exceptionally comfortable and well-proportioned for tall individuals, and the 500-pound weight capacity may hold true for the main structure. However, this strength is undermined by the shockingly poor build quality of the armrests, an issue I've never encountered before in any chair. The weight rating appears to be selectively applied, ignoring this critical weakness. ... show more

    • Sturdy but not the most comfortable

I like it OK but I don't love it. Bought this because I need the sturdy chair to support me, and one with a headrest. It definitely checks both of those boxes. It's very sturdy and the headrest is great. But, I find it difficult to make it really comfortable. The chair came with two sets of wheels and I opted for the rollerblade wheels because they seem tougher and roll better. Those wheels are really nice but they may make the chair a bit taller. Even though I'm 6'2", my feet don't hit the ground quite right. If I lower it to get better contact with the floor, the chair sits too low. I find myself resting my feet on top of the base, which is fine. Also, the seat feels great. What does not feel great is the uncomfortable lumbar area. At the minimum setting, it is like leaning back onto a brick, and at the higher setting, it's like a brick with someone pushing on it. I just dropped a soft pillow in the lower back area and it really helped. The arm height needs to be adjustable. It pivots move it out of the way, and the arm pads move front-to-back, but you can't lower the arms. They sit far too high to plunk a keyboard in your lap and play video games. I find myself raising the arms for gaming and typing while leaning back. The upholstery is really nice and the mesh back is good too. One plastic part got smashed in shipping and the seller quickly replaced it, so at least you know there's a responsive merchant on the other end. In general, I've found ways to make this chair comfortable, but it's not a perfect fit. ... show more
