  • Still my favorite chair!
Color: Black
Update #2: The company is amazing! They reached out, and sent me a set of replacement wheels. It is very comfortable. the replacement wheels are upgraded and work fantastic. My chair is like new again! 5 STARS! UPDATE: So, the wheels have failed. Which is a shame. The chair is comfortable and the rest of the chair is nice, but the wheels have failed at this point it is useless in my small office as I can't roll around anymore. I’m 6’3, 380lbs. The chair is very sturdy. No creeks or cracks yet. The chair is very comfortable and stable even when leaning back. It was very easy to assemble. I will say even though I’m a big guy I don’t have a huge rear end. When I sit down the arms do touch my hips, I don’t mind it, but it is not nearly as wide as I expected. When I asked for a large chair at work, they gave a huge chair that was like a love seat. I returned it and asked for a plus size not a double wide. I will update the review in a couple weeks with real world testing from a big guy. ... show more

  • So far, so good
Color: Black
My old chair was falling apart, and it had never been comfortable. The only good thing about it was that it was easy to assemble. So it was time for a new chair. I made a list of all the things I didn't like about my old chair and looked for a new chair that didn't have those things. Thus this Vitesse Office Chair. Right off, two positives: it's way more comfortable than my old chair; and it's NOT falling apart! It arrived on time in an enormous box. I didn't even try to bring the box in from the hallway. I opened it out there and brought the pieces in one at a time. I began to see problems: The seat piece alone of the new chair weighs almost as much as my old chair complete. The Vitesse chair was relatively easy to put together, although the assembly instructions were a little sketchy, leaving several steps as understood rather than itemizing them. Those missing steps, however, all come under the heading of "common sense", and a little thought solved all my questions. It took less than an hour to assemble (and I'm sitting in it as I type this review). Over the years I've assembled a fair number of pieces of furniture, shelves, appliances, etc., so I've gained quite a bit of experience that came in handy with this chair. Since the instructions left out a number of important steps, I would not recommend a novice build this chair. But it's built, and I like it. I'm also tired. Manhandling all the heavy pieces was fun but tiring. I'm 80 years old, so these things are not quite as easy as they used to be <grin>. Also at over 60 lbs., the chair doesn't weight much less than I do. It will take me awhile to get all the adjustments just the way I like them, but already the comfort is noticeable. The lumbar support is definitely helpful; that's one adjustment I've already played with. I practically live in front of my computer, and this chair already is proving comfortable for those long days of sitting. I wanted a chair with excellent padding, and I thought a chair that could hold 500 lbs in comfort probably would be just fine for my 150 lbs. So far, it seems I'm right. The 3-inch rubberized single casters are easy to roll around on. So far, I'm delighted with this purchase. ... show more

  • Good chair for the big man
Color: Black
Good chair. Comfortable to sit in for extended periods of time. Rolls easy (a little too easy on hardwood floors).

  • Good, But Not 500# Good
Color: Black
***Update*** Since posting the review, the company has contacted me, offering to send me a new set of wheels, with the promise of better quality. For the time being, have changed rating to 5 stars. Love the chair, super comfortable (probably too comfortable!). Great for lower back pain relief, is stylish and looks good in any office. That said, this chair is not made for day to day use of someone up to 500 lbs. as stated in the description. I'm 6'5" and 365 lbs., and I just had to order and installed 6 new wheels for it. One of the wheels broke and sent ball bearings everywhere. Upon looking at the other wheels, they were all ready to do the same. That's after less than a year of 5 days a week use. Better than having to buy a new chair, but be honest with the seller. ... show more

  • the chair, through no fault of manufacturing, is too tall
I want to love this chair, but I can't. I have very VERY short legs and Every Single Chair I buy is at least TWO INCHES TOO TALL. This means if I build it WITH the wheels, it rolls out from under me. I am UNABLE to fully sit in the chair to every REACH the lumbar support. I wanted so badly to love this chair, but in removing the wheels to put low profile slides in place( which would only make it about an inch and a half too tall), seems the piston is too long. I have it fully lowered and I am still dangling my feet, which when I put my toes down, causes the chair to slide wildly backwards, nearly throwing me out of it. So here I VERY CAREFULLY sit, on the edge of the chair, feet dangling, shooting pains in my legs from the pressure of a too tall chair and absolutely SCREWED again because no one understands being short. Ive been teased about using a mounting block (har har, so f*ing funny.) but while that might give me the height I need to get INTO THE DAMN chair, it causes my knees to be jammed into the underside of the desk. If I could only find a piston that WORKS with the chair, is short stroke enough to be able to remove the wheels and use slides, I MIGHT be able to kinda sorta use the chair. 25 years of trying to find a chair that is short enough and 25 years of being profoundly disappointed. Again and Again. Its not the chairs fault. Its the manufacturers for not designing a chair I can swap pistions with to at least make the chair serviceable for me. And all the other people with munchkin legs that have to dangle their feet from to tall furniture and have to get subscriptions to chiropracters to deal with the leg and back paid from chairs too short to be comfortable. ... show more
