I've had a few of what I consider economy office chairs. I'm impressed with the sturdy build of this Serta. The adjustment knob under the seat works great for regulating the degree of tension while reclining. I have no illusions about the longevity of the bonded leather. I hope to get two to three years before the inevitable pealing begins, and a few more before it's an eyesore. Until then I think it will be a comfortable chair. The padding is generous, the lumbar is firm and the quality is better than expected at this price point. Assembly was simple. Not sure why some reviewers have had difficulty. I work from home, 10 hour days, and needed a new chair that was comfy. But let’s face it…I wanted it to be pretty too! I took a chance and ordered this chair and it came today. The instructions for putting it together were super easy, and it didn’t take me too long to get it all set up. It’s super comfy, and the fabric is the perfect shade of pink. The upholstery is soft and I definitely wanted something fabric…I’m in Florida and my old leather chair would make me sweat like crazy. That chair is also a Serta so I knew it would be good quality. I'm very happy with this chair so far and it's comfortable. I just got it so time will tell how well it holds up to daily use. It was easy to put together. Only took about 15/20 minutes to assemble. It has a decent amount of padding for the back and butt. The arms could have a bit more padding but they aren't uncomfortable. The height adjustment works well. The reclining is a bit stiff and difficult to do, but it might be because it's new. The wheels roll around with no problems. The fabric stitching is good. The fabric isn't as soft feeling as I thought it would be. It's a tiny bit on the scratchy side. It does seem to be decent quality though. This office chair is super comfortable. For me, the lumbar support is exactly where it should be against my lower back. I'm able to sit on the cushion seat for several hours without any stiffness or soreness, unlike previous chairs that I've owned. I would've given it a straight-up "5" across the board but it's not the easiest chair to assemble. Nothing comes pre-assembled and several of the screw-in bolts were extremely difficult to screw in. But the chair is well-worth that little bit of difficulty. After a month of use, I'm revising my review of this chair because every day I have to adjust the height, sometimes more than once. Apparently the set screw was set too tight at the factory and the chair rises all by itself without use of the lever. I researched the problem and found that getting to the set screw would pretty much require taking the chair completely apart. The chair is still very comfortable, but it's pretty annoying that I have to lower the chair repeatedly throughout the day. ... show more

Well as the Headline states; I Bought this one to Replace an Existing Chair. The original chair squeaked a lot when rocking back and forth and that kind of stuff really gets to you after a while. But this chair was fine for maybe like a year? But then once again... squeak squeak squeak. I dont know man, squeaking Chairs just really get to me. As for comfort It definitely isn't bad, but the thigh area does get a bit uncomfortable after a while. Doesn't seem very fluffy, maybe a little hard for my tastes. Not for long gaming sessions, maybe couldn't even make it through a movie without readjusting every few minutes. Admittedly after a few years, Ill start looking for a new-new chair. ... show more

Looks good in the pictures and day one was mildly comfortable. DO NOT BUY this if you plan to use it. DO NOT BUY this if you are working from home. I honestly have not been this disappointed in a purchase from amazon ever. $171 dollars out the window. I cannot come up with the words to describe how pathetic and junky this product is. It is very obvious the manufacturer had every intention of ripping of the customer. Why so disappointed? I purchased this product on June 15, 2020 to replace an old chair because I started working from home due to COVID. Within weeks the seat pad is down to nothing and I had to buy a Amazon memory foam pad to help out my rear. It would hurt after sitting for more then a couple hours, worse then sitting on a metal chair. Next the material on the arms is too rough and textured, I find my self with irritated elbows by the end of the day. Then it began making all kinds of noises here recently, squeaking and creaking noises. And now finally the chair height is lowering and now longer holds its position. I weigh 195 pounds NOT 500.
