I couldn't find anything that felt right for under $300. I don't want to spend $300. I have two teenagers who seem to think forks and spoons are semi-disposable. These are perfect. Love these, nice heavy feel, pattern goes all the way round each piece not just on the front side. Price was very reasonable given that other Kate Spade patterns cost up to 3x more!

This Kate Spade (made by Lenox) says its 18/10 flatware. That means it should hold up for a lifetime. So imagine how surprised I was to see that the indented design portions of the knives are corroding. They seem to have a deeper indent than the rest of the pieces. I purchased these 10/22 so they haven't even seen a year of use. I'm going to see if Oneida will back them up with a replacement pattern but I don't have high hopes for that given the amount of time I've had them. I used to sell fine china and flatware so I know what I'm seeing. I suggest you stay away from this pattern. Oneida usually sells a quality product...especially if its 18/10. ... show more

This is a set of stainless steel flatware with service for 8 plus serving implements. The metal stainless steel; each piece is solid with no joints. In the set, you get eight 5-piece sets, plus a solid serving spoon, slotted serving spoon, serving fork, butter knife, and sugar spoon. Each piece comes individually wrapped in a small plastic bag to reduce any chance of scuffing the patina during shipment. The set was made in Vietnam. It’s going to take a while for our family to get used to the this new flatware. Each item in this Kate Spade set is quite a bit larger and heavier than the Oneida Royal Flute flatware that our family has been using for decades: --Kate Spade knives are 9.5” long and 57 gm; Oneida 9”, 56 gm. --Kate Spade salad forks are 7.5” long (59 gm); Oneida 6.25” (37 gm) --Kate Spade dinner forks are 8.25” long (64 gm); Oneida 7.75” (55 gm) --Kate Spade teaspoons are 6.75” long and 1.5” across (37 gm); Oneida 6” (19 gm) and 1” across --Kate Spade tablespoons are 7.5” long (57 gm); Oneida 6.75” (35 gm) That is, the Kate Spade teaspoons are about the same size as the Oneida tablespoons. My husband complains if I serve him his cereal with an Oneida tablespoon because he says the spoon is too big and uncomfortable. But the teaspoon in the Kate Spade set is just as big as the tablespoon in the Oneida set. So that doesn’t make for a happy breakfast table at our house. Still, the Kate Spade flatware looks nice on the table. If the weight and large size are not a deal breaker in your family, this flatware could make for a very nice table. ... show more
