First try with one of these automatic liter boxes and I must say I am very impressed. I will say it is a bit bulkier than I expected, but when weighed against the functionality its completely worth it. It took a week or so for my cat to get used to it as she has only ever really used a traditional liter box. When she did finally get used to it, I can't tell you the relief I felt knowing I wouldn't have to be scooping the liter out of the box ever again. The liter removal is as easy as it gets, just pull the tray out and tighten up the bag and throw it away. I rarely would smell any odor from the unit unless it was right after my cat would use it. Even so, the odor does not linger for very long. Definitely a huge upgrade if you are using a traditional liter box and it on the less expensive side when compared to some of the other self cleaning liter boxes.

I really wanted to love this automatic litter box for my kitties, but it hasn’t been the smoothest experience. On the plus side, it is nice not having to scoop every day, and it does help trap some of the smelly bits that come with life as a cat parent. Anything that makes things easier for my furry friends is always worth considering. That said, the unit is huge — it takes up a surprising amount of space, which isn’t ideal. It’s also pretty messy. My cats have to either leap or take a big step out, and every time they do, litter gets tracked everywhere around the box. I love them to pieces, but cleaning up after their “grand exits” is becoming a regular chore. They are also particular about covering their "tracks" and tend to splash litter out of this litter box. There is a good delay so no-one is surprised by the cleaning cycle, but with each spin comes a strong smell. The odor from the container below as well as the "air freshener" do not leave the air feeling fresh. In the end, I appreciate what this box tries to do, but between the size and the mess factor, it doesn’t feel like the right fit for us. I’ll be returning to the traditional hand scooped method!

I recently started fostering cats and this self cleaning litter box was a total game changer for me. I love fostering kitties but hated the chore of cleaning the cat litter every day and the dust! I invested in this and I love it! It was easy to connect to my Wi-Fi. If I go to the app it will tell me if the box is full and needs to be emptied. Just as an FYI you need to pay extra for the app to actually send you a notification for cleaning which was disappointing. I have 4 cats that use this and I've learned that it takes about 4-5 days to get full and needs emptying. Which is so much better than the daily manual cleaning I was doing. It was worth the money that I spent.

I've been using this litterbox for awhile now to get a really good idea of all its intricacies. So far, it's been pretty great as far as clearing out the litter and depositing it into the tray below. It has been safe for my cats with a sensitive interior that monitors not only that a cat is inside/outside, but also tracks their weight (viewable in the app), along with how often they are using the box. My cats were fascinated with the machinery, and it took a little while before they trusted it fully (1 week for 1 cat, 2 weeks for the other cat). It functions well, and is easy to clean. There is no smell at all in the room the box is in unless the cat very recently defecated, and even then the smell dissipates quickly once the box does its thing to clean and deodorize. As a disabled person, the ease at which this box is to empty is very helpful. It collects right in the bag you'll throw away, just pull the drawstrings to close it up. This is great value for the money, a lot of these boxes are far more expensive and function badly. The only con I had with this box so far is the litter getting into the groove of the bucket and the bottom. This was due to the cat kicking litter outside of the box. I added a grate litter collector in front of the box and use that for their step rather than the pull out step to collect fallout and reduce tracking.
