I recently bought the Pawstastic Self Cleaning Litter Box for my little boy (my cat), and I’m really happy with the purchase. At first, he was a bit scared of the new box—it took him about three days to get used to it. During that time, I played with him around the box every night, which really helped him feel more comfortable. Now, he loves it and uses it regularly without any hesitation. From a pet owner’s perspective, this litter box is incredibly easy to use and manage. The setup was simple, and the USA-based app that comes with it makes monitoring and controlling the box very convenient. I can track cleaning cycles and get alerts directly on my phone. So, I finally decided to switch to this brand after trying the Robot 3 for the past 4 years and was constantly getting stuck mid spin, was a pain to clean and the liner not dropping as intended. Couldn't justify an almost yearly $600 expense or constant calls to support for help. So far (and will update after some use) this seems much less likely to give me problems. Pros vs my previous RB3: - Much Quieter, i saw some mentioned it was a bit noisy but this is extremely quiet compared to the RB3 - Cycle stops if anything enters the entrance (head, paws, etc). This is much better than weight sensor - previously my cat would sit on the edge and bat at the waste as it was dropping. - The vent is a nice touch if you have an area you can vent it to. I plan to do that but will take a little extra work. - The app seems easy enough and provides all that I would think one would need, took some time trying to connect until I figured out it would ONLY connect to the 2G network (wouldn't connect to main or 5G). Never used previous model app so no comparison here. - Components and main compartment seem like they will be much easier to clean. - I like that the litter is a square section as opposed to a round space, might not matter but seemed odd and constantly had urine on the sides as there was no defined space in a dome. - There seems to only be one light/indication for it to stop which is a full bin. Previous model had about 3 different lights/patters for different issues it could be which were constantly making the unit stop mid cycle. - Much easier to pick up and move around compared to trying to maneuver a big dome shape. Cons: - The inside space does seem a bit smaller than RB3 model but still sufficient for most cats. Might be a problem for those cats who don't like the confinement. - I had a little ramp on the RB3, not sure this comes with anything like that so might be an issue for any cats with mobility issues. Shouldn't be a problem for my cat. - There isn't enough space to have any kind of litter guard for those who have cats that like to fling litter everywhere. - As others have mentioned, the calibration is odd that it requires 11lbs and more annoying than that is, they don't have the calibration process in the instructions until after the add litter instructions so most likely, this will have to be done after the first cleaning cycle when you've dumped everything out again. Update - I've had this now for about 7 months. I gave up on connecting it since it's such a hassle, and living in S Florida, we have a lot of power outages from storms but it hasn't been that important to have up-to-date info on potty time for me. I will say the biggest con for me so far with this thing is the bagging situation. It's absolutely horrendous trying to wrestle a bag around 6 tiny little tabs. You can't just put the bag around the whole tray or it will read as full. That has been awful but I will say that the ease of cleaning this thing over my previous model, makes up for it so I'm not taking off any stars.

I purchased this item on May 26 this year and placed a review here shortly afterward giving it three stars—I titled it, "I Love It I Hate It." My way of saying "Not Great Not Terrible." Now, I need to change that to a "*" and beg someone from Pawstastic, Amazon, or anywhere else for help. Pawstastic support is absolutely terrible if one has a problem! At least they have been awfully bad in my case. I have a warranty situation with what is probably a defective "Waste bin sensor," or at least one going bad. At one point I thought I also had a "pairing" problem between it and the app, but that turned out to have been the result of my simply not resetting the box after reinstalling the app while troubleshooting logging problems—which still are not totally resolved, but that is another problem for another day. My unit is continually failing with bogus "Waste bin full" messages, sometimes, but not always, accompanied with "Abnormal full waste bin recovery" messages. Per Pawstastic, these are usually caused by the waste bin sensors being blocked, such as by the waste bag not installed properly, or the sensors needing cleaning. In this case, it is neither of those... just to make sure, I completely removed the bag and that had no effect at all. In the beginning, this would happen every few days but now, it has become unusable; more often than not, it will fail during power-up initialization, or shortly thereafter. Pawstastic's information, right here on the Amazon web site, says: "Worry Free Service For You" "1-Years warranty" "24-Hour customer support" "[email protected]" The User Manual says, "For important safety and warranty information, please see the customer care guide." Followed by their URL. The only two documents that I received are the User Manual and the Get Started document. I have no idea what the customer care guide is. If anyone can help me out, I would sincerely appreciate it. If not, I guess my next stop will be the BBB... if they are even located in the U.S.
