I purchased this item on May 26 this year and placed a review here shortly afterward giving it three stars—I titled it, "I Love It I Hate It." My way of saying "Not Great Not Terrible." Now, I need to change that to a "*" and beg someone from Pawstastic, Amazon, or anywhere else for help. Pawstastic support is absolutely terrible if one has a problem! At least they have been awfully bad in my case. I have a warranty situation with what is probably a defective "Waste bin sensor," or at least one going bad. At one point I thought I also had a "pairing" problem between it and the app, but that turned out to have been the result of my simply not resetting the box after reinstalling the app while troubleshooting logging problems—which still are not totally resolved, but that is another problem for another day. My unit is continually failing with bogus "Waste bin full" messages, sometimes, but not always, accompanied with "Abnormal full waste bin recovery" messages. Per Pawstastic, these are usually caused by the waste bin sensors being blocked, such as by the waste bag not installed properly, or the sensors needing cleaning. In this case, it is neither of those... just to make sure, I completely removed the bag and that had no effect at all. In the beginning, this would happen every few days but now, it has become unusable; more often than not, it will fail during power-up initialization, or shortly thereafter. Pawstastic's information, right here on the Amazon web site, says: "Worry Free Service For You" "1-Years warranty" "24-Hour customer support" "[email protected]" The User Manual says, "For important safety and warranty information, please see the customer care guide." Followed by their URL. The only two documents that I received are the User Manual and the Get Started document. I have no idea what the customer care guide is. If anyone can help me out, I would sincerely appreciate it. If not, I guess my next stop will be the BBB... if they are even located in the U.S.

I have two cats and I have two of these litter boxes. When I didn’t have these I would clean each box at least daily. These boxes have reduced that chore to once or twice a week. I bought them because we travel/weekend trips and didn’t want to ask care taker to clean daily. **This is important** They are imperfect and you must have a secondary source if you travel. Sometimes even when just cleaned they cannot do a full clean, I will explain, and the cycle stops which makes the box unusable to the cats. To explain, sometimes the cats have very large pees and the litter balls around as intended but the pees sometimes are so large it blocks the machine from completing its cycle. This can happen too if the cats pee in the same spot twice and there is a pee in the box and one being cleaned. If they happen to be I the same spot the litter being cleaned can fall onto the one previously cleaned and again the box cannot finish its cycle because it’s too large. The machine is designed to sift and it naturally moves the waste around so this happening is not too frequent but sometimes it occurs. And like I mentioned this has happened right after I cleaned. I found that smoothing the litter bag around the collection pan helps a lot but I would not say it’s 100%. Now this happens infrequently and when I’m home I just give the collector pan a shake (back and forth once) and the cycle finishes and all is good. But this could be a problem if you only have one and are traveling. The app works well enough, it alerts me (when I view the app only, as far as I know). When the litter is full or a cycle has not been completed as noted above. I would definitely recommend and would buy again. Oh and I use their recommend litter in one box and the light clumping litter in another. Both type work well. I’ve had these boxes for over six months.

Bought March 2025, I believe there is 1 yesr warranty but I have not received any response. First month it was great. Automatically cleaned no issue. The machine senses my cat going inside but not leaving. So it will not automatically clean until anywhere from 100 to 300minutes. The machine thinks the cat has been inside the whole time. I have Recalibrate cleaned tried with new batch of litter with no luck. Now, I just manually press the clean button about 3 times a day since it will not work automatically. Also! Whenever my cat gets curious during the clean cycle, the machine stops irs functions (which is good and normal). However, whenever my cat leaves the area, it does not continue the clean cycle so I have to manually press clean button again whenever I notice it stuck. It is definitely not worth the price for all these issues. $150 unit from elsewhere works better and longer than this expensive unit. Very disappointed.

UPDATE: THEIR ONLY CUSTOMER CONTACT INFORMATION, AN EMAIL ADDRESS, IS NO LONGER A VALID EMAIL ADDRESS. STEER CLEAR. If you want to spend $500 for a one year self cleaning litter ox, this is great. If you want something that lasts, this is TERRIBLE! I've had it just over a year and it won't cycle anymore. I took it apart, cleaned it completely, and it worked for a few hours, before going right back to fail mode. It stops halfway through cleaning, and the worst part is there are cheaper options with better reviews. Steer clear of this one, customer service is also just a Chinese email address you'll be lucky to hear from.

I would have given one star but the customer service was great! Exhaust doesn't eliminate smell at all. In fact it fills the room with the smell instead. I live in NY on the Canadien border so venting it outside like others mention is not an option. I put a nylon pouch with activated charcoal on the end to try to absorb the smell and it helps a little bit doesn't take it all in. I have tried so many type of litter, clay, tofu, walnut shell, and even mixing them together. I put baking soda down every time I take the mat out and it prevents the sticking for about three days then it starts to stick and I have to scrape the litter off with the scooper. My cat pees in the same spot most of the time so I am guessing that is why but I shouldn't have to take it apart to deep clean every three to four days. When I first received the litter box, I reached out to customer service thinking I had a faulty exhaust system since it stunk so bad. They were amazing and sent me a replacement within three days. Sadly, it still stinks. There is no filter so I am not sure exactly how it is supposed to neutralize the odors. The app is ok but I really wish the odor control was what it said it would be and the litter didn't stick to the mat. And I keep it to the max line daily so it is not because I am not keeping it deep enough. The photo I shared is day four since the deep clean. All the darker areas on the grey mat is where the litter sticks. If anyone has any suggestions that have worked for them I am open to hearing them!

This cat litter box is truly an extraordinary invention! 😺🙌🏻 First off: I LOVE that the app is reporting my cat’s weight after each usage. Having a scale built in is a genius creation. It’ll help me monitor my feeding habits better… ☺️ Thank you! In general the set up of this high tech cat toilet was very quick and easy. All I needed to do was to snap the 4 elevating legs into their places. Then the exhaust fan into its back side dedicated spot. Placing the air duct on top of it, plug in the power cord. Ready! Then downloading the free app. Connecting it to my wifi & I was ready to roll! Or better said: My cat! Took me about 15 min all in all. PS: I got some helping paws with getting it all out of the box… 🤭 As my cat is an indoor and outdoor one, I only need this fantastic box during night time or for other occasions when the front door is closed. In order to try my luck, I filled his new box with his old litter sand and removed the old toilet right away. First thing in the morning, I of course checked the situation right away and I felt delighted to spot some sand corns by the opening spot! I also noticed the changed sand situation! Quickly I checked the app and I was SOOO pleased to see that my boy used the box for 1 minute during night time and to also see his current weight. 🤩🙌🏻 Fabulous! First step is a total success!! What I also love about this Pawstastic litter box is that it has all these many sensors and that my cats safety is guaranteed. Overall it’s a very sturdy box. Takes up some space for sure but it’s added cat ears cuteness and it’s helping cleaning “hands” surely makes up for it all. This litter box definitely is a game changer for my boy and for myself. Looking forward to many more app results! We both are super happy with this purchase so far! Can only recommend. 😃✅🐾

Cats are ok with using it I am giving it 3 stars which is generous. Hard to maintain. Was expecting more from this product. Very disappointed. Would return it if I was able to do so

UPDATE #2: After contacting the company a second time about the faulty sensor, through Amazon. They no longer replied to me. So if it’s broken and under warranty they will not refund you or even replace it. I have reported the seller… doubt anything will come from it. UPDATE: It hasn’t been quite a year and I rescind my previous review. I’ve had so many problems. First, I had to contact the company about it being stuck mid rotation. They had to send me a special update to fix it. Not a month later the waste bin sensor malfunctioned and kept saying the bin was full even though it wasn’t; the machine would no longer cycle. They had me turn the dumpster switch to off. So I won’t get notifications when it’s full. Not a huge deal, but why spend over three hundred dollars on a machine that has a faulty sensor? I wasn’t aware that the machine is like a giant computer that is monitored by an outside company. They can see the data and control it from abroad. I thought this thing was just triggered by weight, not some fancy computer. I don’t recommend this at all. I shouldn’t have to contact an I.T. If there’s a problem with the computer. Not everything needs to be a smart device. *** I love that it has a tray I can pull out and dump. It’s not easy to put the liners in the tray, so I just don’t use them. I don’t mind washing the tray if it means I don’t need to scoop. I wish the unit’s litter pan wasn’t a mesh material that way it was easier to clean, but it’s still the best purchase I ever made.
