I’ve been using this self-cleaning litter box for a while, and it has made a big difference in my daily routine. The open-top design is great, and my cats adjusted to it quickly, and it feels more natural and less enclosed for them. The automatic cleaning works well and saves a lot of time. I don’t have to scoop every day anymore, and the odor control is much better than a regular litter box. The weight sensors add a nice safety feature, so it only runs when it’s safe. I also like the app control that it’s easy to track usage and manage cleaning settings from my phone. It makes everything more convenient, especially when I’m not at home. The build quality feels solid, and it’s easy to clean and maintain.

My cats took to it easily. It looks like a normal litter box, versus the ones high off the ground and small entries. I tried the Fumoi, and my skiddish cat wouldn’t go near it, but he’s cool with this one. It controls scent well. I have an almost full bin now and don’t smell anything. It does leave some gunk on the rake though and is louder than I would like, but works well, controls scent and they use it. I wish it had a cover of some kind, litter gets thrown everywhere.

I love it!!! This box is perfect for my large 16-pound cat that will not use an enclosed litter box. If you’re looking for a cat box for large or multi cats I highly recommend the Robotail Self Cleaning Litter Box C32. When my Litter Maid broke, I bought another brand supposedly for large cats. It worked but never got most of the used litter. The waste box was so small I had to continually clean it. After six months of fighting with it I put it in the trash and ordered the Robotail Self Cleaning Litter Box C32, 2026 Upgraded Open-Top Automatic Cat Litter Box. It’s a much better design! The rake mechanism is on the outside of the box so the area the cat sits in is much larger. The waste bin is larger (14” x 7”) and holds twice as much waste as similar size cat boxes. The deodorizer block helps keep the area odor free. Robotail sells the waste bags so no guessing on size (an issue with my last box). It comes completely apart to clean. The rake lifts out to clean without having to take other parts off. It doesn’t make much noise and is quieter than my last two boxes. I also like the app. It indicates my cat weighs a little less than at the vets office but he could have lost weight since his last checkup. I want to thank the Robotail Help Desk that answered all of my emails and all of my questions!

This is absolutely the best robotic litter box out there. I now have 3 of them and they are amazing. My litter usage has decreased by substantial amounts. I only need to change out the litter bag about every 10 days. There is no odor. They are extremely easy to clean. I have 3 large cats (had 4, but my eldest passed away) and these 3 boxes handle them with no issue. My only wish is that they would make a bigger one as I have a 25 pound Maine Coon that has adjusted to the size, but he did miss a few times in the beginning. Forget the ridiculously priced litter robot and buy the Robotail. You will never regret it.

UPDATE: if you find the machine not lifting waste into the bin and just raking it into a poo mountain (cats won’t use since there is nowhere clean to go), just hit one of the towers the rake is attached to. Seems to get it going again for awhile. You’ll have to do it more often than you would hope, but it seems to work. Check DAILY!!! Yes, I know how to properly remove, clean and reinsert the rake properly. Yes I looked at the instructions on how to do so. ——————————————————————————————- This is easily one of the worst-designed products I’ve ever bought on Amazon. The core problem: it barely works. About half the time, instead of actually scooping waste into the disposal bin, it just pushes everything into a giant pile near the bin. Naturally, the cats stop using it when that happens. It’s also EXTREMELY loud. The motors and rake mechanism are noisy enough that they startle both me and the cats every time it runs. For something that cycles constantly in a home, the noise level is ridiculous. Cleaning this thing is a nightmare. The lid has tiny corners where the rake jams compacted waste, and the only way to clean them is with a toothpick or tiny brush. Same problem with the “deodorizer” compartment — which doesn’t seem to deodorize anything anyway. Waste gets packed into the vent slots and corners, and since the lid isn’t removable, you can’t even properly hose it down. The litter tray design is terrible too. There’s a slick liner glued onto a plastic tray, creating a seam where litter and waste get permanently packed in. Again: toothpick time. Dried waste sticks aggressively to the plastic and has to be scraped off manually even after soaking with cleaner. Then there’s the rake system. The little “cleaning fingers” that are supposed to clear the rake don’t work at all — they just become another place where waste gets compacted. If you don’t clean the rake constantly, the slots clog, litter stops passing through properly, and the machine starts bulldozing huge piles of litter toward the bin. The motors are too weak to handle the mess the machine itself creates. Eventually it jams, stops mid-cycle, and locks the box unusable until you manually clean and reset everything. At that point you also have to hand-scoop the mess because the machine can’t recover from its own failure. To make things worse, it dumps tons of clean litter into the waste bin. I’d estimate at least 25% of what ends up in the bin is perfectly unused litter. The tray is shallow, so litter gets kicked everywhere. The app is almost useless. It tracks usage and identifies cats by weight, which only works if your cats are very different sizes. But you can’t export the data, which makes the tracking feature pointless for anything like vet records. Even viewing old data is frustrating because the app constantly refreshes while scrolling. Since buying this thing, my litter box maintenance time has increased dramatically (hours!), along with my frustration. Honestly, save your money. A basic storage bin and scoop work better, are easier to clean, and will save you a lot of time and aggravation.

Save your money. This is NOT worth two cents. The rake would NOT lower after using it three times. I emailed the company and got no response. There doesn't seem to be a phone number to call. I do have to add this to my review, because people should know that dealing with this seller is exceptional. He talked to me via letter and reassured me that his company would not need me to send back the defective litter box. What a relief and they also credit back to my initial form of payment ASAP. I would definitely try other products from this seller,,just not this particular one, lol.
