I'm doing a new review after two months of use. It's in my bedroom with 7 foster cats. First the good: I like the features, and the cats took right to the box no problem. Most of the time it works pretty well. Support has been great and they are constantly improving the app and tweaking the operation. This unit will get better with time. It does a good job keeping the smell down. However, there are some significant issues: The cats seem to like to use the bathroom in groups. Which means that while it's scooping, if another cat looks in it just stops, so they see it's stopped and jump in and poop behind the rake, causing a huge mess. These are young foster cats, so they look at it a lot and that's causing it to stop a lot more than needed. The unit leaks urine from the back because the tray overlap just isn't very deep. I've had to resort to stuffing a bunch of paper towels in the back to soak up the urine, which works well, but I still feel like this could have been prevented with greater overlap. If your cat doesn't pee high this won't be a problem for you. The tray just doesn't hold much litter so if you have a digger or an old cat that pees a large amount, there's a good chance it will clump and stick to the tray. I have to scrape the pan daily. I was able to make this problem much better by covering the clean tray with floor wax. It wastes a lot of litter, so I have taken to scooping the used litter it deposits in the waste bin to reuse the good litter in other litterboxes. The waste will pile up in the back of the bin and so it will never be more than half full before it gets so high that the flapper door will smear waste all over the place trying to close or when removing the waste pan. Overall, I spend about twice as much time cleaning this box as I did a regular litterbox because I can't just throw it in the sink. I think this would work well for someone with one or two small cats that are very tidy, but it's not a timesaver for me with 7 cats. I'm raising the review to five stars because they are taking it back and say it's not for more that 3 cats. I can accept that but it didn't say that when I bought it, however great support like they have deserves a good rating. ... show more

Very pleased! Got this in January. Been reliable so far. I have three cats. With three cats, I like to have 2 kitty bathrooms so today I ordered a second one. I like how easy it is to keep it sanitary without a lot of maintenance. I had another drum model and kept it so I would have two litter places for the cats to go. Good riddance to the old model. Waste stuck to the inside of the drum. Yuk! Such a head ache to clean! Today I threw out the other spinning drum type one. I never felt good about our cats climbing in with stuff sticking to the sides … even though I cleaned it often… lugged the drum up the stairs and hosed and scrubbed it out. A big job! I use Boxie (black bag) cat litter . It seems expensive but it lasts longer than other brands I tried so in the long run, I think I save. Says it lasts 30 days … but with three cats I change out the tray about every three weeks. I change the bag every 5-7 days. I wipe out the inside with a wet wipe and cat box spray cleaner once in a while … but really very little to clean. I am 74 years old and have used many litters and cat boxes. No matter what box or litter there will be stray litter . I bought a handy small gallon size shop type vacuum to clean stray litter around the floor and bin. ... show more

    • 3-Month in – Not Ideal for Multi-Kitten Households or Extended Absences

We’ve been using this automatic litter box for three months with our two kittens (9-month-old at the time of this review), and while there are some positives, the experience has not met expectations—particularly considering the premium price point. Waste Bin Capacity and Notification Timing: I currently need to empty the waste bin approximately 3x per week. The app sends a notification when the bin is full, but if I’m unable to address it immediately—for instance, while at work—the waste backs up into the machine, creating a mess that requires immediate cleaning. If not cleaned promptly, the unit shuts down. To prevent this, I’ve resorted to setting recurring alarms to empty the bin on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays evenings, preempting the app notifications. Unfortunately, the app lacks a feature to customize or receive earlier alerts. Litter Refill Issues: The auto-refill function does not maintain an adequate litter depth. This results in insufficient coverage for our cats, leading to urine seepage and the need for frequent manual cleanings. The litter pan often needs to be removed and scrubbed. Like the waste bin alerts, there is no way to prompt an earlier refill through the app. I now manually top off the litter every other day as a workaround. I do use the premium slide litter made for automatic litter boxes. Design Concerns: The scooping grates are too widely spaced, allowing smaller waste to fall through. Additionally, the grates are positioned too far from the bottom of the pan, causing a thin layer of litter to accumulate and harden. Clumped litter also sticks to the grates and gets smeared along the interior walls and ceiling during the cleaning cycle. There is no option to purchase narrower or differently designed grates, or bring the grates closer to the bottom of the pan. Size Limitations: Although marketed as an “XL” unit suitable for larger breeds such as Maine Coons, the interior space is barely adequate for our 6-pound kittens. The claimed 80L capacity seems significantly overstated based on our experience. App Functionality: While the app includes customizable settings, we’ve found the unit does not calibrate correctly to any custom configurations. The machine only operates reliably when set to default mode. Pros: Eliminates the need for daily scooping, provided the waste bin is emptied consistently 3x per week. The sterilization process is effective; there are no noticeable odors until the waste bin is full. Final Thoughts: Given the high cost of this automatic litter box, I expected reduced maintenance, a truly spacious design, and greater peace of mind—especially if we wanted to leave our cats for a vacation longer than 3 days. Unfortunately, the current setup requires too much manual intervention and frequent maintenance to justify the price. ... show more
