  • Great for a nas

  • Great drive
Style: HDD Pro(New) Capacity: 22TB
So far, so good. I copied 13TB of stuff from my 4 other smaller external drives, and the speed was almost always well over 100 MB/sec. Highest I transfer speed I saw was 150. 20.0TB of formatted space. I've been using Seagate and WD hard drives for over 25 years now, and have only had a couple of them crash. Back in those days, I was running P2P programs non-stop 24/7, so the drives were heavily used, and were NOT enterprise class (young and stupid.... and broke), so I can't fault them for that. Hopefully I'll have the same good luck with this one. Words of advice from somebody who has been doing this for a long, long time. Never, ever, ever CUT and paste your data from the old drive to the new. Always COPY and paste it. That way, if something does go wrong with the new drive during the transfer, you still have all of your data on the old drive. If you truly care about your data, then get a RAID so you have redundancy. If a drive fails, everything can still be retrieved from the other discs in the array. Expensive, but can you put a price on your stuff? If you don't get a RAID, at least get a second drive and get some file syncing software. Run the software frequently. Like any time you update anything on your computer. That way, you always have the backup drive up to date. I use Free File Sync. It's great, and very easy to use. https://freefilesync.org/ Remember, it's not a matter of IF your HDD will fail. It's a matter of WHEN. ALL hard drives will fail eventually. Keep your stuff backed up to multiple locations. ... show more

  • My Seagate Drive failed after 2 months of purchased
Style: HDD Pro(New) Capacity: 22TB
Updated (02/13/24): My Seagate 22TB NAS Drive failed after 2 months of purchased. The seller/Amazon offered the refund, so i just took off one star review instead neutral or negative because it is not seller fault because I just had a bad luck with this refurbished drive. :( Old Review: I work like new, highly recommend. i bought 22TB but my Synology DS220+ only can recognized as 20TB, not sure why but i think DS220+ did not update latest hard drive max capacity yet. So far the drive work very smoothly and healthy. it is good deal that i can get $100 cheaper than brand new drive. Thank you very much. ... show more

  • Great Customer Service
Style: HDD Pro(New) Capacity: 20TB
2 out of 4 renewed HDD purchased were non-readable by my NAS. However, contacted customer service and they replaced drives without any issues. They were also very responsive and appreciated my patronage. A+++ company because they go out there way to make their customers satisfied.

  • Second time was the charm!
Style: HDD Pro(New) Capacity: 20TB
The first one i received did not spin up at all! I installed it on my qnap nas and nothing happened. My qnap didn't recognize the drive, so i installed it on my PC and nothing. I returned it and tried a second drive and it worked! Connected it to my nas and right away was notified that the drive was installed. RAID has been expanded and working great. ... show more

  • Loud Rodents
Style: HDD Pro(New) Capacity: 20TB
The squirrels that nested in my attic last fall made less noise. This is why my mother hated my hamster, running all night in its little wheel. Seriously, what is going _on_ in these things? It”s 2:00 am and I can hear them up the stairs and through the floor. They sound like a mean nun whirling a bingo cage. It’s like a circa 1995 floppy drive on meth. Ah well. I’ve been meaning to move the server rack into the garage. Now I’m motivated. ... show more

Style: HDD Pro(New) Capacity: 20TB
22TB says it all this drive is massive and holds so many videos it mind boggling I think i am up 3500 and that’s not including TV shows and i haven’t even used half the drive. As far as longevity goes we will have to see it’s to early to tell. Just glad no issues with the drive last big external drive i had with case went DoA after 3 months of use. So hopefully i got a good refurbished be. Price was fantastic! ... show more
